Had a friend tell me there were still some Crawford skeptics out there....I didn't believe him. Guess he was right.

Hearns had that jab man. He could box with the best. I'd say more technical than Crawford. Hearns is one of the hardest punchers in boxing history. Crawford isnt even close to being near Hearns in that department.

Terrible take. Hearns had great technique. He was outboxing Leonard for most of their first fight, and outboxed Benitez.

I refereed him multiple times and his technique was NOT great. His punching power WAS. His short coming was when he could not KO his opponent and had to go the distance or got caught himself after a wild punch.

Crawford needs to start fighting better opposition.he has beaten a lot of solid fighters but I’d like to see him fight either Spence or pacquiao in 2020.he is 32 so in today’s game he has plenty of time to become one of the all time greats.

    What Hearns fights you watched?

Anyone that beats Benetiz on points is a master boxer.

He was outboxing SRL, another master boxer before his stamina ran out in the 14th round.

He out-boxed Virgil Hill, another highly skilled technician at light heavyweight.

In what way is his technique not great? Tommy was so much more than just a great puncher.

I suspect you haven’t watched any of Hit Man’s fights. Tommy Hearns was a better boxer than Crawford and a much better puncher. It’s understandable why someone would think Crawford was better. If Hearns faced guys like tiny Gamboa, Khan or the parade of cans Crawford has faced, he would look unbeatable. Hearns was a fearless man who would fight anyone. He wasn’t concerned about protecting that zero or padding his record. He didn’t always win but watch the Hagler fight if you want to see a true warrior. Tommy didn’t come out on top but he showed more heart in that fight than Crawford has shown in his whole career.

Crawford has great skills but he’s managed to avoid every top WW in the year and a half he’s been at the weight. Hearts would have cut through this group like a hot knife through butter. He was that good.
