If Fitzgerald is fit and his minds on it he’ll win, possibly Cheeseman getting pulled out..another good fight though, good card tomorrow.

I've become a fan of Fitzgerald of late - thought he boxed brilliantly against Fowler and a great shot to put him in his arse late on too, showing he carries power late (just like in the Morris fight).

That said, I can't believe how easily people are writing Cheeseman off and making out as if this is some sort of mismatch!!! Cheeseman prior to his last two fights (and lets get it right, a lot of people rate Garcia as being fringe world level at the moment + Conway is a good young fighter in his own right) was being heralded as a real top UK prospect.

Fitz has been known to blow hot and cold - the Morris performance compared to Fowler show that - but I do think he's the more talented boxer and is the bigger puncher. However..... he's never done 12 rounds like Cheeseman has and hasn't boxed as good opponents as Cheeseman has as a pro.

Cheeseman is right in this fight and he's as tough ****er - Scott will have his hands full I think. Although, as tough as Ted is, if he hasn't sorted his problem of blocking punches with his face like he's done in his last two fights then Scott has the ability and power to walk him onto one and take him out.

No matter what the matchroom hype room suggest.

If Cheese whoops this kid he isn't suddenly a world beater that has improved leaps and bounds.

It just means all of the Brits are as average as they come.

Just like Progais annihilation of Taylor doesn't make him p4p. It just means you talked Taylor up when he is really just a good domestic fighter.

Agreed with all that until I read the last paragraph.

Besides no one has contended on here that either Fowler or Fitzgerald are anything near world level so it’s a bit of an off-beat statement from you.

I think Fitzgerald is very good but I just think the odds on Cheeseman are quite appealing, I could be wrong but I think Cheeseman has a better chance than his 9/4 suggest, might bang 20 quid on him for a little bit of interest!

The bookies have Cheeseman on stupid odds. As if he isn’t in the fight. It is worth a punt on him for sure.

Anyone think this doesn’t go 12? Juicy odds of +150.

Really up for the show later. No drinking tonight, but watching on the sofa with the missus - ordering a Chinese. Got a toffee cake for pudding, been eating well all week and hammering the gym so it's a massive cheat night lol.

Good card overall IMO, Fitzgerald/Cheeseman has potential to be class.

Stupid odds based on what? How does Cheeseman win this fight because I’m struggling to understand?! He can’t beat Fitz on outside, who has a very good jab and superior understanding of range and movement. Ted will obviously try and push Fitz back but Scott is a strong 154 fighter. Whether or not Fowler is hype job, he is huge at light middle and couldn’t bully Scott. Scott for me is better on inside than Cheese, he’ll be harder to hit and he can really bang. Personally the bet is Fitz KO for me at 5/2. Cheese could take a beating tonight he is wide open and I said before I’m not sure he’s much more than a very good area fighter/solid British level. His best win is against a blown up over the hill Carson Jones. He’s had a torrid 2019 and he doesn’t need this fight at this stage. The Garcia fight was a bad beating. He’s relentless and strong at the weight but that will only take you so far.

I watched an interview with Cheese and he said that Fitz was blowing in the Fowler fight and he’ll be coming on strong in those later rounds. If that’s the tactics then to me he is in big trouble. He’s got to get to those championship rounds first and how far will he be behind even if he does! I appreciate Fitz has got a lot of credit from the Fowler win and probably a tad overrated. But he’s a talented lad with a very solid amateur background and good fundamentals. By all accounts he has turned his life around and is taking the game seriously - off the gear and fully focused. Now living with Jennings (in Chorley and not Preston) and looking in great nick.

I don’t think we know his ceiling yet. The same can’t be said for Ted.

Nowt wrong with Preston cha! :nonono:p

Fitz will be too strong for The Cheese. Better movement, too.

    Whoa Scotty Fitzgerald!

Ha, didn’t say there was mate, although I’ve not been there enough to confirm either way!

Point was that Fitz has said that there were a lot of distractions in Preston. So getting away through camp not a bad thing.

After seeing what a light hitting Garcia did to him, Fitz should crush him.

Actually looking forward tonight, cracking card and I’m interested in what Bakole does to Johnston.
