Nothing I saw last night makes me think either guy beats SK. Gvodzyk never settled and didn’t use his length effectively, his footwork looked unsure and seemed reluctant to sit down on his punches. Kovalev is much more dangerous from range, he’d find a rhythm with the jab and make it very hard for Beterbiev to get inside and do the kind of work he did last night. Beterbiev has a good chance against him but still feels like a 60-40 fight in Kovs favour.
Both Gvozdyk and Beterbiev beat him at this point in his career and that in itself is no shame. Beterbiev walks right through him at this point.
It’s possible Beterbiev grinds Kovalev down, he’s definitely not walking through him though if he couldn’t walk through Gvodzyk. Don’t see how Gvodzyk beats Kovalev at all.
Gvozdyk is better than Kovalev at this present time and I’m a Kovalev fan, a massive Kovalev fan. Beterbiev would get tagged in the early going but Kovalev whilst still hitting hard, has lost his snap and his power has diminished. By round 3/4 Beterbiev will have taken control, by round 6/7 it’ll be over.

Kov almost got stopped by a euro level bodybuilder Yarde. Canelo and Floyd fans just propping up Kov before he gets beat by Canelo.
Love the guy but he's somewhat the elder statesmanof LHW on the final lap of his career now.. he has already been stopped twice by unremarkable punchers.. he was close to getting stopped by a greenhorn in his last one too.. Beterbiev is #1. He'd brutalise this Kovalev.. it wouldn't be pretty..
I'd say Kovalev is third behind Beterbiev and Bivol in terms of talent. In terms of ranking I'd put him second after Beterbiev. There's absolutely no doubt that Artur is number 1. Not since Kovalev was knocked out. Ironically Kovalev might have been the best, his performance in the first against Ward is a level higher than any one else in this division has fought at. But two recent stoppages means I can't put him above a prime unbeaten unified champ like Beterbiev.
