A shame that video of the fight still doesn't show all these fouls. Say belt line at least. Kovalev never returned the favor though, he instead turned his back to Ward, and bent over.
Beterbiev would punish Kovalev and stop him not long after mid rounds if its still going. Im not even sure Kovalev gets by Canelo .
Gvodzyk has a similar style as Kovalov. Beterbiev would walk down Kovalov, just like he did to Gvodzyk. Sergey is very hot and cold. He cannot afford to do this with the likes of Artur, Kovalov would have to be focused, to have a chance against this brutal punching machine. With the Canelo Alvarez fight on the horizon, it is not possible. Even if he wins that match,he still could not defeat Artur, who hits much harder than he does, and appears to fear nobody. If Canelo should beat Sergey, he would be another casualty at the hands of Beterbiev, who I believe is king of the hill. Too many outside distractions for Kovalov.
The belt line is the navel NOT the genitals. At least 10 or 12 punches were blatantly low . Actually Weekes said " Keep em up " to him in the first round. He was probably told off & told to ignore any low blows after that
Kovalev is the current most underestimated fighter in boxing. Which is strange giving the very good performance he had during his last two fights. And he is the legit champion of a very competitive division. LHW is better today than it was when Roy Jones Jr was the P4P king. **not saying Kovalev is better than prime RJJ, not at all, I am saying that his current reputation is very denigratory. Kovalev is very good !
