His skills are still there but his chin is not. Likeable guy but the harsh reality is hes not cut out for the upper echelons of the sport anymore. Retirement is probably the best option from here.

All 5 losses coming by KO/TKO and all within his last 6 fights as well.
Retirement is surely on the horizon.

I don't see how he can't retire as of now. Mid 30's and not only losing all of his fights over the last several years but also getting highlight reeled brutally ktfo. Also in his only recent win over a fat welterweight in Gastelum he was badly dropped at the end of one of the earlier rds but Gastelum had no time left in the rd to follow up. Weidman is DONE.

Him and Luke Rockhold are knockout highlight reels.I know it's not funny but how many times have we seen em sat up after waking up from being knocked out and looking around the place with the same familiarity as before?
it's definitely time to retire as everyone beats them now.

Yeah, sad for CW, but he just doesn’t have the tools anymore.

Watched live when in the first fight, Silva was totally dis’ing Chris and got clocked.

    Awesome moment.

He literally has no where to go now, only option he has is to focus on wrestling and go for take downs non stop and avoid stand up.

The problem is that he tried that at the beginning of the Reyes fight but couldn't get him down to work his wrestling/bjj. Soon after he was brutally put to sleep AGAIN.

In Rockhold's last fight against Blachowicz he also tried early in rd 1 to get his opponent down but simply couldn't.

Both Weidman and Rockhold simply can't take any damage these days. Both guys chins are beyond shot at this point.

That fight took more out of Chris than Luke. a lot more. The amount of punishment Weidman took in that fight was scary.

Yeah. I think Weidman is a clear case of a guy who had a solid chin and had it stolen from him due all the punishment he absorbed. Machida was a tough fight, Rockhold beat the absolute hell out of him, Romero kneed his head into the bleachers. Those fights ruined his durability and its only gotten worse since.

Remember when Weidman was considered the next big thing in the UFC?

Would anyone think that a rockhold/weidman rematch would be something that they should both consider and loser has to retire sort a thing

Agreed. Has to retire. Not even a gatekeeper as KOing him doesn't tell you much about the guy.

Also the jump to 205 only suits extremely durable guys. CW or LR were not struggling to make weight at 85, just both got sick of getting beat there so moved up
