He was probably 305 before losing 44 pounds.

His weight on June was 122 kg, now (according to the press) should be around 103-104 kg.

Ok, still pretty light but probably ok if he’s more towards the higher end of 220-230lbs.

Hopefully he did and it’s not just a rumour because he was getting too fat if you asked me. He’s never gonna be chiseled out of granite but he could benefit from losing the man titties.

If this is true, then he should be faster. Then again... we don't know what he weighed prior to entering camp for this rematch.

Losing this much weight seems very silly to me. The human body doesn't like change, it likes consistency (regardless if overweight and for long term health reasons it's for the better). If he has lost this much weight he might have lost some punch resistance and/ or power. He might be quicker but not sure its a worthy trade at the cost of other, key, attributes.

Will be very interesting to see how this affects his performance. Assuming he has the right people around him, I guess I should expect this will be for the better (against my uninformed judgement!).

He is a professional HW boxer and a good one. The sport is all about performance and not vanity.

I'll be surprised if he comes in 40 pounds lighter for this fight. Why would he make a radical change? His last fight showed a winning combination of speed, power, endurance and punch resistance.

He maybe has a nutritionist now and might come in a little lighter but I wouldnt expect anything radical.

The article is trash and they have no sources for their claims of him losing 20kg.

"Since the news began to circulate that Ruiz would have lost more than 20 kg on the net his fans were screaming all their concern."

That's their source - "The Internet"

They also use the photoshopped picture of Ruiz as some kind of evidence.

Move along people, nothing to see here.

if it ain't broke don't fix it. sure he could get in better shape. However, he won the championship as a blob. never a big fan of changing weight too much. hope that is not true. got to call my bookie and change a few things. later.

That's a lot of weight and if true good on him. It's only the fact the he beat Joshua whilst looking like a fat blob that we question it at all?
I hated seeing Miller come in all fat and bloated as that's how he over powered his opponent's.Ruiz is no Miller and has good fundamentals, fast hands and good skill.Maybe he will be even better for it?if he has indeed lost 44lbs in weight.

Why would he lose so much weight?? I highly doubt this and it could be mind games.

ok I would understand a stone, but 44 pounds???

his cardio is good, and his power has pop and hand speed elite. Dropping a stone would help perhaps, but 3???? Awful idea

Trash? For the sake of truth, some days ago (anticipating "more accredited" boxing newspapers) the same site wrote Chisora had revealed Joshua would have earned 75 millions for the rematch and both the site and Chisora were right in fact yesterday it was confirmed from Joshuas promoters the fighter will earn around 59 millions of pounds (=75 millions of dollars) for the rematch.

All that dancing at the parties helped him lose weight.

he is losing fat, its ok. Belly fat is a bad one, cuz it produces hormone resistin, which is bad for your heart and can cause diabetes.
