Can see that, just a feeling on Prograis & Taylor is going to turn both ways with one on top then the other.
Sure looking forward to this fight.

I can see Taylor winning this comfortably using nimble footwork and counter punching. Not sure if it will be competitive enough to justify purchasing the PPV.

It was on talksport and I've just been on their site and had a look but can't find it mentioned there. I don't know if they put it in their fight night podcast but it's possible.

    Just checked the journalists feed

So yes get that podcast and listen, it's well worth it, Prograis is a class act, outside the ring as well as inside it.

Do you think he's capable of not getting drawn into a fight?

My read of his tone whenever posting about these guys is that he really likes Rougarou...but has TTT up on that special top-shelf <3 pedestal. So he'll be, while maybe a little torn, ultimately rooting for Josh.

Whereas for me, probably the opposite, mostly because I get precious little chance to watch major British cards and thus follow the rise of blue-chip UK prospects these days (as Saturday afternoon is my primary time with Lil Butt) and so have only really seen YT clips of TTT (and enjoyed his style immensely, but...there's only so much emotional imprint delayed footage knowing the result can make on you), and have conversely watched plenty of Rougarou fights live, and seen tons of interviews with him to endear me to his personality to boot.

True test of a great match up imo.I couldn't even be bothered calling Friday's fight and I'm only picking Taylor here cause I like him. We've Had AB v Gvodzyk and still have Taylor v Prograis and Inoue v Donaire albeit I wouldn't call that last one as a true 50/50.

I dont know, thats why im saying it is his to lose. He is always getting drawn in to a fight but he doesnt have to be. Its on him to either play it smart or get drawn in and give Prograis more of a chance.

I going with Prograis. I think he will have enough.

I know it's in England but it's not in Scotland, Taylor will not get the support and cheer he gets in Scotland, Taylor's last 7 fights have been in Scotland with fanatical support.

    I believe that is significant.

Don't misunderstand me, The support will be OK but it won't be a ferocious atmosphere for Prograis, the majority of fans will just want to see a good fight.

Actually it might be interesting, England and Scotland don't get on most of the time, the crowd might even be somewhat split come fight time depending on how Prograis conducts himself between now and the fight.

Wont take much for drunk Englishmen to support anybody against a Scotsman.

    Good interview here:

    https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2019/oct/21/josh-taylor-boxing-interview

“I’m bigger than him. I’m taller and with a longer reach. He’s shorter and stockier than me. He might be a bit physically stronger than me. But I can handle that. I’ve got speed and boxing ability over him. I’ve got the reach. I’ve got good timing and footwork. I’ve fought better opponents. I just feel I’ve got the beating of him.”
    ...
" But, as a boxer, you’re punishing your body all the time. You feel it most during fight week. It doesn’t help that you’re cutting weight. We do it right but your body’s still dry. You don’t eat much. So the night before the weigh-in’s always the longest and toughest. You’re crabby with people. But as soon as you’ve weighed in, you’re rehydrated and got good food back in, you start to relax. It’s time to have fun.

“That’s why I can’t wait for Progais. It’s been a long camp gearing towards this point. This is the big one, the one that we want to win most. It’s not going to be easy and there will be plenty of hurt – but I’m looking forward to fighting, and winning.”

The tone of that most recent interview sounds a lot more mellow that the usual arrogant guff from Taylor. Still dislikeable though!! Rooting for Prograis to spank him!
