Good Numbers and that wouldnt have included hardcores like me who had to stream it from the UK, because no UK channels picked it up.
very strange that Warren and ESPN talk a good game about a link up but from what I have seen so far it is only working one way. All the UK cards go on ESPN but nothing comes back the other way. Do BT not have a budget for these fights. Surely could have been picked up for cheap last minute.
Always trying to bend the truth, aren't we? a couple of actual numbers (all average, not peak): vs Wade 1.35 Million vs Monroe Monroe Jnr 1.3 Million vs Rubio 1.3 Million vs Stevens 1.41 Million vs Macklin 1 Million vs Matirosyan 1.24 Million he had 800.000 against Brook, in England the replay later that evening did almost the same numbers. and there's more... but don't let facts get in the way of your agenda
Sitting in a chair, watching it on my PC and typing like a fiend. I'd missed two rounds if I tried to type all of that out on my phone, besides, my fingers are too long and my hands are too big. Both of those things are not very conducive to typing with your thumbs like a madman.
Great number all things considered. One fascinating aspect of this is ESPN paid a mint for the UFC and they are drawing nearly the same ratings at pennies on the dollar for Top Rank.
The Geale fight pulled in some 700k something. But yea, Golovkin was a hit on HBO. And this was when their boxing ratings were already in decline. And you can´t really compare HBO numbers to ESPN anyways. ESPN is a sports channel. How many at the time were subscribed to HBO for it´s boxing content? Same with say Fox Sports 1. It´s available to over 70 million households so a program pulling in under 1mil in viewership would seem like a complete failure. But how many of those 70 million households actually tune into FS1?(and how many of those viewers care about boxing?) Hell, I have only 50 or so channels available to me at the moment, and I maybe watch a handful of them.
I think these are good numbers considering: 1. It wasn't really advertised 2. These are two Eastern Euro unknowns (as far as most Americans are concerned)
Well it’s very much appreciated and for what it’s worth after watching the fight I think your scores were fine as scoring must of been a nightmare. I had no vested interest in either but I scored for the busier, more prolific guy in Gvodzyk.I mean in hindsight one could say Beterbiev was in control and had more on his shots but I’m not even certain of that as up until round nine Gvodzyk was fine. The RBRs on here are often the only way I can get the fights at the time so my thanks to IB,yourself and everyone else who puts in the time and for all those who criticise these cards, maybe they should try and have go themselves lol.
Lol he’s seen the mosquito bites and Clenbuterol tests. He ain’t that naive he merely chooses to back a known PED user. I mean we didn’t exactly need those two failed tests to know all this lol.
Only moronic fans care about numbers. This was a quality boxing event, one of the best fights of the year. That's all that matters to me.
If you are a quality and dominant fighter you want to be recognised and remunerated for your efforts. That can only happen if you are well known with the casuals, can get their attention or have a fanbase already in place. Hopefully Beterbiev captured enough attention in his last fight to bring in casuals for his next fight to get paid well. If he is fighting in China though, the money will be good enough anyway.
