Wilder has also fought a collection of glass chinned featherfists in the main. Grandpa Ortiz nearly fulfilled your prophecy, but Wilder got some assistance from the ringside officials
Be a big step up for Wilder taking on a prime contender. I dont think hes ready just yet, let the kid develop.
No doubt in my mind Wilder's punch has the payload to flip Ruiz' ight switch. And vice versa. I think Wilder is probably the only top guy at HW who could pull off the feet with a single shot. If a tall and lanky boxer matadors Ruiz all night long and tires him out I think there are a handful that may be able to pull that off. The greatest thing about Ruiz is that he doesnt give a **** and a half, hes just biting down on his gumshield and going cyclic regardless of who is across from him or what kind of artillery they are playing with.
If Wilder got help in the Ortiz fight, would you agree fury got help against Wilder getting extra time to recover after rising at 9?
50/50 imo.... I favor Ruiz slightly but obviously Wilders power makes it hard to predict. 50/50... on whether Ruiz can withstand a Wilder right hand bomb exploding on his skull. If he can, he wins.
Ruiz has attributes that will cause Wilder problems but in the end he is lacking the defensive nous to get over the line. He might get off the floor a couple of times but it ends with wilder gyrating his hips and yelling "bomb squad" as tge doctors tend to Ruiz who lies prone on the canvas.
It was in both cases. Wilder was saved by the bell on very shaky legs and given extra time to recover Fury was heavily dropped and also given extra time though he recovered quicker than Wilder so who knows which was more useful. Ortiz may have punched hinself out and wilder may have swung massivley wide and ended up in a clinch. No point in assuming what would have happened.
You don't check by letting them walk around for 10 extra seconds. You either can go or you can't. Just ask Meldrick Taylor if he would have liked those additional seconds fury was allowed
