I haven't posted for quite a while maybe a few years or so,
But reading this thread it made me want to.
Do not underestimate Artur beterbiev ring generalship check out the robbery against Usyk in amateurs Usyk said that Beterbiev is powerful and clever. His brute strength is off the charts, Canelo is going to be advised by the power to be to stay away period!.. Kovalev should out box Canelo and buzz him multiple times, from long range then gradually beat him up, not sure if they will pull him out later, but I can see this scenario.
Kovalev has tricked most fans and media , I have that gut feeling,
For this fight I have noticed that Kovalev demeanor is unusually quiet and respectable and this is calculated for the time of the fight. I see Canelo game plan going wrong very early in the fight, when the hard reality sets in slowly. Canelo will be stubborn at first but Kovalev ram rod jabs will be discouraging, Kovalev is very nimble on his feet and good at turning and punching. Kovalev will crack canelo often and hard, Everyones is mentioning that body shots will be Kovalev weakness. Yarde stopped many fighters with body shots maybe not elite but his raw strength is up there or greater than Canelo my opinion , kovalev didn't budge, I see a surprisingly easy tko for kovalev

He’s too small for Beterbiev. Canelo better wait until Beterbiev is old old.

The extra weight may just end up slowing Canelo down, in which case he'll just gas earlier and get hurt much earlier too.

    Beterbiev. By stoppage. Violently.

Sure, but that fight was at 160lbs.

He is carrying almost an extra 10% of mass here at 175lbs and will still hydrate come fight night to 180lbs+. That will invariably slow him down and reduce any speed advantage he has.

The thing about Beterbiev though is that he is a not a reflex fighter (relying on fundamentals like the jab etc). He is just brute force so age may not slow this guy down as much as other fighters (think George Foreman in his later years). Beterbiev will land at some point and in a clinch he is so strong (look at the way he threw Gvozdyk down at the end of Rd1 and beginning of Rd10 like he was nothing) that Canelo would struggle to get anything off on the inside.

It's not that Canelo is a a bad fighter - I rate him at A+ in terms of skill and offence. His punch selection is awesome - but that Beterbiev is just TOO physical for him.

Maybe with the right referee, who will warn Beterbiev for anything even close to a foul, will deduct points from him mercilessly.

Yup. After Beterbiev Canelo's new sponsors will be a hospital chain, a wheelchair manufacturer and those guys that teach you to read again.

Nobody in their right minds expects Canelo to fight Beterbiev. La Chica is just trolling.

This. Canelo can do a lot of things very well, but what it really comes down to is that he can't hurt Beterbiev and Beterbiev sure as heck can hurt him.

i agree, thats why i want to see how much pop canelo has at 175, that weight that you feel may slow him down, may also add some leverage to his shots. canelo is going to catch him clean... often. beterbiev lunges forward with his hands at his sides like hes in mid hooks, if canelo can hit solidly at 175, beterbiev will lunge himself into ***** street, regardless of how strong he is..

Part of me wants Kovalev to knock the PED cheat into next Thursday and part of me wants Canelo to win and call out Beterbiev for a unification fight.

Canelo is just too small. I rewatched the Gvozdyk fight and OG's real success was when he fought tall and just used fundamental. As soon as Beterbiev closed the distance, he just ragdolled him around caught him with cuffing shots from so many angles.

BTW there were 6 times that Gvozdyk (a tall 6ft1 190lb on the night, elite fighter) touched the canvas against Beterbiev.

    Rd1 - end ruled a slip
    Rd6 (or mayb RD7, ruled a slip)
RD10 (first minute, ruled a slip)

Rd3 x 3 before being called off on the last knockdown.

Beterbiev is just too powerful. The only way to beat him is to have serious firepower and dance circles around him. Usyk can do it but may not have the power....

Canelo won’t even fight plant, benevidez, or smith let alone beterbiev. He’d be lucky to go 2-2 vs those 4. I personally favor all 4 over canelo to win legit.

its a tall order, no doubt, but beterbiev has holes, significant ones. i dont like to talk about everything i see, cause posters are delicate as ****, get all butthurt and start calling you a hater. i get why they do it, as someone else pointed out today, 90% of the posters here dksab and are just here to promote the home team. so naturally, they are going to assume you roll the same way.
