Watch more Beterbiev, and you'll understand. Beterbiev isn't a face first one dimensional plodder who blocks punches with his face for starters, and can actually box of the backfoot land sneaky counters and set traps for his opponents. I'm saying that as someone who's not even close to a Beterbiev fanboy.

You think Canelo has the power to bother Beterbiev? Canelo hasn't fought at 175, can't say whether he Carrie's his power up. If he doesn't, he will be in some trouble against Beterbiev and Kov.

Beterbiev doesn’t have a pesky jab like Golovkin and Kovalev do.
And he likes to fight at a more measured pace, something that suits Canelo.

And that's EXACTLY what he'd do to Canelo.

Speaking of James T. Kirkland. Does anyone remember that time he got blasted out in a round by a featherfisted Japanese fisherman who no one even in the coastal regions of Japan had ever heard of?

Glass jaw Kirkland had been inactive for 1.5 years going into the Clenelo fight. However, had he been active not only might he have beaten Clenelo but he probably would've gone onto unify the LHW division shortly after doing so, just as long as there weren't any featherfisted Japanese fishermen waiting up there for him that is :risas3:

    Beterbiev KO1 Clenelo

He's our one loose canon, and even then he's not as disrespectful as many of the Canelo haters.

Agree. I thought Gvodzyk would school Beterbiev. But Artur showed us another dimension to his game. He's not as good a boxer as Gvodzyk, but he's good enough to make his physical advantages stick.

A completely broken man. Powerful, raw but zero fundamentals. Perfect to execute for a guy like Canelo or GGG or any other durable, skilled professional.

Canelo has a stylistic advantage all due to a jab? :duh

People call Kovalev faded when he’s actually coming off 2 of his top 3 wins based on ranking, although I do think he edged the first Ward fight and got unlucky.

Kovalev is just a lot more comfortable at range than Gvodzyk, and has so much more mustard on his shots. I could see him really busting Beter up wth the jab/straight right while he tries to get inside and punish the body.
