He has his own narrative, even the biggest die hard Canelo haters don't get behind much of what he says.

Underrated fight, ggg took a lot of punishment both to the body and head, its obvious hes not the the same since that fight, just look at the Rolls fights even tho he won he didn't looked the same.

I am one of the few that love both these guys

I did score both for GGG, but definitely can see a good argument for Canelo in 2nd fight. I was shocked how aggressive he was in that fight and certainly landed a lot of damaging shots

With GGG's change of trainer and advancing age, I can only see a third fight going to Canelo

Both guys are awesome and that was a fantastic round.

    Good thread!

3 uppercuts from GGG were the best punches of the round, he was the one having his jab going(and no, jab exchanges weren't close), a good amount of Canelo's power punches were glancing blows(Golovkin initiated 2 clinches but that was due to fatigue) so I thought Golovkin did the better work in the majority of the round.

The only bias, unconscious or otherwise here is pretending like It was a one sided round by any means, that It couldn't possibly go the other way.

Clear Canelo round. No idea what you’re watching.

my sentiments entirely.Canelo should be applauded for the second fight, result wise it always looks harsh on the champion losing his belts in such a close fight.Had this been a non title fight or two other fighters in a close contest nobody would bat an eyelid. The problem lies in the first fight as it creates a rod for his own back so to speak.

Canelo was one punch away from doubling the amount of power punches Golovkin landed. Jabs don't trump clean effective hooks and right hands to head and body.
Canelo landed with better variation and with better accuracy. A lot of GGGs jabs were over -written with left hook counters to body or head by Canelo.

Slipping the jab is one of Canelo's best skills. What fanboys think are landing jabs are actually being dodged and slipped by mere inches.

If Canelo eat clean jabs jabs from GGG for 12 rounds solid , he'd have a pulp'd and busted up face to show for it. Canelo who marks up easy didn't have a mark on him!!!!!!!

I think there were about 8 or 9 clean head-snapping jabs from Golovkin. Canelo definetly landed more power punches but I thought G’s uppercuts were the most effective punches of the round.

I agree on the uppercuts, but his punches seemed to be from the arm without his body into them. I seem to think his power was sapped from the harder shots Canelo was landing. I think it was mid fight when GGG was using his jab very well and Canelo slammed a vicious left hook to the mid section. If you watched closely it really had an impact on him, that shot I thought was worth more than 10 jabs in the round.

Think It was the 6th round you’re talking about. By the 12th round, both lost some steam from their punches. We’re used to seeing Canelo tire and try to catch his breath, but It was the first time we saw GGG fatigued. (Largely because of Canelo’s investment to the body, and because of his age to a lesser extent.)
