The key is Canelo standing up to the power of a past prime Krusher IMO
I THINK BIG RED IS IN FOR THE FIGHT OF HIS LIFE

Canelo only has to be standing at the final bell & he will NOT be allowed to lose

I been saying all along, Canelo is going to have a easier time with Kova than he did with ggg.

    Canelo's going to stop him.

His strength is bodypunching and the counter left, both of which Kovalev are vulnerable to.

Kovalev is also turning in to more of a frontrunner as he ages and the mileage piles up.

I think Canelo takes him out sometime in the last third of the fight.

What a great fight and well said by Ward at the end about Yarde gaining his respect.First time I've seen the fight in full and here's my thoughts on it.First of all Yarde is a beast and looks like a cruiser weight, his power would have to be much greater than Canelo as his record suggests.Kovalev looked as sprightly as I've seen him for a while and his range as usual was exemplary. It took seven rounds for Yarde to figure out he had to go for broke and find the body, when he did take it to Kovalev and hurt him badly, look what it took out of Yarde in trying to finish him?after that somehow Kovalev not only survived but his punches still had plenty on em Inc the jab.
I now think no matter what stage in the fight be it round three or ten, that Canelo would expend to much energy at the weight and would get picked off.
Styles make fights and your think it were a joke if Canelo fought Yarde.Only Kovalevs age and perceived weakness to the body stops folk from thinking the same.
Canelo will get massive props if he wins and rightly so.

No you're not alone. I'am also surprised that so many think Kovalev is going to win. Can he win a dec against Canelo ? No
Can he KO Canelo ? I really dont see that happening. Canelo will pound Kovalev and win by bodyshot KO, if not he'll take the UD

wow you think?Do you expect him to come out like he did in the second GGG fight?
my big worry is what Yarde had to do to find his body,he basically risked everything to get to the body and it did work but at what cost.

I agree. kovalev is not shot. hes not prime, but hes top dog till someone proves otherwise in the ring. his power isnt going to disappear, he can ko anyone were talking about if he catches you at the end of that straight right. I will be looking to see how canelo solves the problem of getting inside that small area at the end of kovas arms. fielding was 3" taller and canelo had no trouble slipping past the long jab. granted, hes no kovalev, but canelo made it look easy, so he knows what to do.
its hard for fighters who arent used to fighting smaller, compact guys, cause you lose a lot of punches that would otherwise be available. when he bends, and he creates a line going through his spine to your shoulder, you are left with a target the size of a grapefruit... a weaving grape fruit. im having trouble seeing how the fight will develop because both are getting a whole new set of tasks, and i think canelo is better at problem solving, so i think he will win.

Hard to call you crazy when most of the world (and oddsmakers) have Canelo as a HUGE favorite.

Anything can happen. I feel like Kovalev will be more like an effective Austin Trout to start off (except with more pop) and it will come down to how effectively Canelo can get inside. His strong counter punching won't help unless he can get inside. It is an interesting fight and IMO Kovalev is being discounted far too much and I'd say this is a 50/50 fight.

If Canelo can win, it is a fantastic win, even if Kova is faded.

Have you been interviewing Oscar De la Hoya and the Canelo posse?

More like a 70/30 type fight in Kovalev's favor. Weight classes exist for a reason. Canelo has already shown that he isn't on GGG's level, or Lara's for that matter. He struggled with Jacobs and his only hope is that Kovalev turns up old and injured on fight night. That's the only reasonable path to victory he has. He doesn't have some weird advantage in skill level like a Lomachenko could use to go up in weight. At junior middleweight he was mostly dominant because he fought little old guys (Mosely, Cotto) and guys moving up to him (Khan). This guy isn't the second coming of Leonard. He'd have a slew of losses on his record if it weren't for the dodgy judging and people would evaluate him a lot more reasonably. I think he has that Cotto/Martinez chance where you beat a cripple, but that's about it.

Facts. This fight is only interesting because of Kovalevs decline and issues outside if the ring. Jockriders of Clenelo will pretend otherwise but that's the only reason why his handlers set this fight up. I hope it blows up in their face.
