Prograis deserves a rematch

The fact is that Progais lost the fight and he needs to work his way back up. I would rather see Taylor vs Ramirez. Prograis needs to beat a couple of first class contenders and go for the winner of Taylor and Ramirez.

 

i can see him winning a rematch. he spent a lot of time trying to look cute, trying to show versatility and being flashy, when he should have been focusing on what was working. he also allowed taylor to tire him out by playing hold your ground against a bigger taylor who only had to lean on him. regis kept getting low for leverage to keep from getting pushed back, which saps his energy while taylors getting a rest by making you help to hold up his weight.
a smarter camp would make a significant difference. it wasnt like he was thouroughly outboxed or outclassed, the fight was tight, he was never hurt, and he had taylor in real danger in the 12th. i think someone like a roach or a garcia would get him the win.

 

I wanted Prograis to knock that guy out but he showed no urgency as you said and was trying to look cute and always had leaky defence but good chin, power wasnt there also for the majority of the fight.

Taylor probably wins against Ramirez and unifies then will go up to 147 as he sems like a big guy, bullied Prograis and outworked him. They might meet again at 147 but i cant see Prograis being too successful at 147 with this frame of his honestly.

Quite disappointed with Prograis, he has power and good jab usually but such a slow starter man shame. I scored it personally 8-4 for Taylor, 7-5 is fine too but was not a robbery.

thats another thing i think was part of a bad game plan. i remember thinking in the 6th rd. "regis is throwing just to touch him, hes not putting any weight behind his punches, i expect he will be trying to get taylor used to the pattern then sneak some really hard shots in between there". i didnt see him punch with intention again till about the 10th rd.

 

@Boon picked Taylor to win by KO. Do you feel silly now?

 

Actually, I posted a few times what my prediction was; Taylor by KO. I also said that Taylor would win the majority of the rounds and that is what happened..
