If he looked like Anthony Joshua he would. Big, black and muscly is cool in a lot of people’s eyes. Little, skinny, pale and Scottish isn’t in most.

What a main event. I couldn’t have argued either way. Prograis looked done for a while but the way he come back was great. He was so gracious in defeat too. A lot to really like with him.

Selby looked decent but he should go down to super feather. Burns is still decent but won’t evenly get near world level which we all knew anyway so it’s up to him what he wants to do. Top fella though, I thought I might have forgot but Smith reminded me 999 times.

Okolie is a dick head and horrible to watch.

Fantastic main event that. Well worth the money. Hearn said on ifl it did low 200ks just like loma v campbell and Whyte v Rivas which is a shame. The first two had the best fights in this country for a while!

I don’t think that’s too bad all things considered. Fighters like Prograis and Lomachenko aren’t particularly well known and smaller weights struggle to get as much casual interest as the bigger ones.

I didn’t think it was that bad a card on the following basis. I thought the rounds which Taylor won were clear rounds for him and I think he won about six of those. For a draw you needed in my opinion to give Prograis all of the closer rounds.

Sometimes after a fight rather than think of scoring it round by round it can be interesting to think if you just had to score it based on its entirety. I think the vast majority give it to Taylor. Right man definitely won.

It was the same with Ricky burns, he was winning world titles but your average Scottish didn't person know who he was. Obviously burns wasn't huge in world terms so it will be interesting to see if Josh gets more recognition in Scotland because it's clear he's going to be a p4p top ten and will be a global star.

I don’t think the terms of his court punishment allow him to post on the internet between certain times. Not sure, but I think it has been mentioned he’s on the sex offenders register.

Thinks its just because he's a Hibs fan - switch to the right side of town and he would be more famous...

Only kidding - do think his star is rising and the hype will be much more for future fights - he deserves it

He's not a star because he hasn't until recently got that sky sports shine. Tyson fury couldn't even sell out manchester arena in the wlad rematch. For some reason channel 5 gives people big tv ratings but not always followings. Obviously Taylor has good scottish support but not uk wide yet. Last night should help massively.

Isn't it thought he's joining matchroom soon?

    CompuBox fight stats

Search for Taylor or Prograis and hit the red button.

Interesting figures round by round but overall figures are.

    Total punches:

    T: 206 / 698
    RP: 273 / 909

Virtually same connect percentage theres only a 1% difference. Prograis threw slightly more power shots, again hit percentage is very similar.
