    In history?

The ones I can come up with are Ted Kid Lewis, Lloyd Honeyghan and Dave Green.
    Does Hatton count?

I am a pretty big Hatton fan, and if he is among the best welters it would have to be a pretty poor crop! I will have to think about this when I get home.

Hood, Basham, Stracey, Colin Jones, Mason (?),

Welter seems a weak spot for British boxers. Course, the wars didn't help either.

We've had a couple of decent ones imo, but Honeyghan always comes out on top for me. The way he went to the US and smashed Curry stands out as one of the greatest British performence s in lower weight boxing.
Some may disagree, but I think Honeyghan at his best could beat a hell of a lot top welter thru history.

    I was thinking that too.

Josh Taylor could well get up there, with how he's looking, but only time will tell.

Understandable mistake to make, seeing as The Dublin Destroyer was one of his many nicknames.

Yes, but I'm certain that McLarnin was born in Dublin, as his name was The Dublin Destroyer and I've read that didn't know where he was from but seemed to think he was born in a suburb there.

I'm fairly sure he was born in County Down, N. Ireland.
