Got to love the sportsmanship with Prograis and Taylor

After the tragic passing of Patrick Day, this is a great advertisement for the sport.

 

Taylor already has a better single win than Crawford does.

 

Easter gets hit way too much to be a long term threat at 140.

 

I really like the kid too, especially when he’s not hanging out with AB (Always Blocking). He has a great attitude, respects opponents, and seems like a genuinely cool dude. Unfortunately, he gives up his height way too easily. As a 3rd generation fighter, I wonder if his elders have mistakenly sacrificed his natural gifts (height and reach) to mold him into the style they employed during their own heydays.

 

When he does box from range and punches in combinations , he can look very good. I think 140 is a better fit for him too, he was way to skinny at 135, hell, he still is at 140. I’m not saying he beats Taylor, but I’d watch that fight. Just saying there are plenty of guys at 140 to keep Josh busy, that’s all. And last night his dad kept telling him to fight from distance, but he kept getting sucked back into Granados’s fight halfway through every round.

 

Hitting after the bell is good sportsmanship these days????

Is there any evidence that Taylor cuts a particularly big amount or is actually any heavier than Prograis even?

I’ll have to rewatch the fight. I was half asleep watching it at 3 in the morning, after a long day of playing husband and dad.

Easter won’t be effective at 147. I’m not sure he’ll beat the top 5 at 140. However, I’d love to see him fight Hooker.

Correct. Taylor apparently enters the ring about the same Robert Easter did on Saturday, and that was his first fight at 140.
