Not much of anything happening. Bohachuk plodding along, extending jabs. Brunson using four corner defense.

 

Boom!

 

Halfway through round 3, a short right hand on Brunson's chin buzzed him and from there Bohachuk never let up, hooks on the body, finally a HUGE boomstick right lowered on the button and Brunson collapses violently in a heap! The count is beaten, albeit with nearly a minute left. He survives the round slipping & weaving and throwing weak counter jabs.

Knew this wouldn't reach the halfway point without Brunson getting turned into a dig-a-hole-to-China spade.

El Flaco isn't really explosive, but he is heavy-handed and unrelenting when he gets somebody in trouble.

 

Another monstrous right hand and Brunson is lying on his back a moment before clumsily rolling across the ring, until fumbling with the bottom rope to pull himself out. The ref takes a chance on letting him continue, but honestly this would be a good time for a stoppage. Brunson starts running, ducking and popping up with jabs and desperation-fueled right crosses. A minute on the clock. Bohachuk grinds his way in and tenderizes Brunson's midriff with upper-hooks, then slams him with rabbit punches when he slouches forward. Another huge chopping right and Brunson folds in half and does a timber fall backward.

KO4!!

 

Young Gun, you gotta retire. Please. Or at least don't face any more top 40 ranked non-featherfists. Or you're going to be a vegetable by age 40.

 

I'd pick this kid over Munguia in a heart beat.

 

Brunson better watch tapes of his opponent next time.

I'd been wondering if there was any relation.

 

He should just skip having a 'next time'.

 

I think we are overdue to see Bohachuk really tested. Somebody like a Culcay might be the right sort of chaff-separator for the job - or is he way too much of a leap for El Flaco?

 

That's the right level of guy in terms of ranking and cred.

But if I was a manger I wouldn't fight Culcay for anything less then a title or eliminator. Far to risky.

154 is interesting . Most the ranked guys are either on the cusp of a shot and waiting around or they are in the building stage and likely neither would fight someone like Chuk.

Looking through the I'm actually struggling to see what his next step is.
Does he aim for a Trout or Kirkland who don't have the ranking but have the name??
