Who would win this possible future match up provided Joshua gets past Ruiz

Usyk is very skilled . I think critics sleep on usyks power at heavyweight . Keep in mind he was just coming off a year lay off . However I believe he does have decent power and as soon as he gets more active he will show more power in my opinion. Especially that left hand he slept bellew with . I'm not saying he has thunder power , I'm just saying he might have decent power to make big heavyweights respect him. Good foot work movement as well

    Anthony Joshua

Big guy all around good body puncher, inside fighter and has good combination punching to finish a knockout . His performance against Ruiz was good in the beginning he gassed out and showed he could not handle Ruizs pressure . Though when he did engage Ruiz the first time he ended up dropping Ruiz and even ruiz said that was the first hes ever been down. So Joshua still has that size and power as well as combination finishers.

    Stats
    Anthony Joshua

    6'6 height

    245 -250 weight

    82 inch reach

    Usyk

    215 pounds. Weight

    6'3. Height

    78 inches Reach

So who would win ? Provided AJ gets past Ruiz and fights Usyk ( Mandatory)

I'm one of the guys that thinks AJ might just beat Ruiz in the rematch. It will be an awfully tough fight for Usyk, given AJ's physical characteristics. However, I think that his skill and speed will even that out considerably. If AJ doesn't smarten up and plug his gas tank, I think Usyk will struggle in the beginning, but by the end its going to be all the Kurgan. I'll take Usyk on points, tentatively.

    Usyk.

I think Joshua is a fighter who HAD great potential but a combination of rushing him to the top and a trainer who isn't great for him will see to it he never maxes his potential.

He stopped developing as a fighter after the Charles Martin fight, they put him in with Klitschko where he took a beating before winning, then tried to give him a backfoot style which isn't him at all.

He should always have been a come forward, marauding boxer/puncher and he should have had a trainer who could maximize that style, improve stamina and teach him to be defensively responsible on the attack.

Instead Robert Mcraken tried to turn him into wladimir klitschko, which just isn't him and left him with a hodge podge style.

Think about his recent performances, even against klitschko he got smacked up when trying to box but destroyed klitschko when coming forward.

I think Joshua from 4 years ago would have been horrible for usyk but current Joshua would probably try to outjab usyk and just wouldn't have much for him.

Going off what I've seen of the pair of them at Heavyweight (so not a lot from Usyk), AJ should beat him.

Just dont see how Usyk wins this

He isn’t a Marvel character or some walking miracle

Wasn't too impressed by Usyk's puny power. Will be interesting to see if he can fend off lesser behemoths. The beaten bodybuilder might still be too much for him.

Why on earth would he need to be a marvel character to beat AJ? It definetly doesn’t take a marvel character or some walking miracle to beat him, as he just got pummeled by a fat cruiserweight.

I’d go with Usyk by decision, after a few scary moments. Maybe he’d hit the canvas for the first time as a pro.

because he is freaking 215 pounds at 6 foot 3 and AJ is 250 at less body fat, and 6 ft 6.

And far superior skill to Chazz freakking witherspoon who hurt Usyk by his own admission, and marked his face up completely.

If you dont know who AJ is and what he brings to the table with regards punch power, combinations, accuracy.. then you better go do your research.

And Usyk is a slow starter, and we've all seen what AJ does in the first three rounds, he usually floors his opponents DOWN HARD. and MANY dont make it back up, and these are legit big guys, thick necks, big tendons.

Ruiz is a tough mexican, and he exclaimed "AJ hits hard man, like really hard"

Make fun of Ruiz all you want but he is actually a big framed guy, he aint a small guy who is chubby. He has a big frame. Usyk has a cruiserweight frame.

Usyk aint doing nothing to hurt AJ, so dont act like he has a chance at hurting him, because it is slim to none... AJ will be bringing the heat very early, and ive seen the toughest men crumble in quick time.

So yes Usyk would need to be a marvel character at his size, to withstand all that crap. AJ is a beast, absolute monster. And he is durable as hell too.

a fat cruiserweight ?? based on what ??

according to the scale ruiz fits the description of a Super Heavyweight rather than a cruiser weight

I like Usyk, but he's massively overhyped on here. People have a short memory and seem to have forgotten he was being comprehensively outboxed by Tony Bellew of all people, before age caught up with him.

I can't see Usyk winning this one, his power was severely lacking at 200lbs so I don't think he'd be able to get any of the real big heavyweights respect, but I'm pretty sure his come forward style would change when he eats what's coming back at him from these 230+lb monsters.

And whoever thinks Ruiz is a fat cruiser... just do us all a favour and log off. There's no way on earth that guy could ever make 200lbs since he was 12 years old.

He most certainly would not need to be a marvel character.

First of all, Ruiz doesn’t have a bigger frame than Usyk, he just has more fat on him. He’d be around 210-220 lbs if he was in decent shape.

I’ve seen each and every last one of the televised fights of AJ, pro or amateur. He’s a big guy with good punch variation, good power and good handspeed. He starts fast but he has weak ring generalship, struggles to cut off the ring and only moves in straight lines. Gassiev who has better balance and better footwork than AJ was struggling to cut the ring off on him. So even though Usyk starts slow, he knows how to keep the distance against an opponent with big power.

I can see Usyk getting caught with shots early in the fight, but whenever AJ tries to go for the kill, tries to throw combinations, he punches himself out, which would spell trouble against a guy with good defensive skills and good engine. (And Usyk might be the best on that regard, as far as recent HWs/CWs are concerned)

I can see AJ winning the first 4 rounds, even hurting Usyk, but then Usyk taking over, utilizing his high workrate and movement, frustrating the hell out of him from the angles, figuring out his punch selections and being able to see the big punches coming and using his tight guard to block them, staying in his chest to take a breath when he needs to to take advantage of AJ’s weak inside game and grabbing a close decision. The way you describe Joshua, ıt sounds like you’re the one who needs a reality check.

And getting your face marked up doesn’t mean much. GGG got a black eye against Willie Monroe who can’t crack an egg with his punches and yet he never came close to getting hurt against much bigger punchers.

Based on his appearance. He has no muscle tone And I’ve seen guys who are in better shape than him at 240-250 lbs make cruiserweight.
