I would. Jumping 2 weight classes has been brutal for the people who have been trying it lately. Brook, Rigondeaux, Garcia. Not very happy endings. Although those 3 took on champions in their prime. Canelo got someone a little past it so don’t think the deck is stacked against him as much. I still think it’d be a nice statement if Canelo gets a stoppage win

It is a fight of insanity. If Canelo beats Kovalev decisively, it is history like nothing else before. It surpasses any achievement, better than Roy Jones versus Ruiz, better than Pacquiao versus Delahoya. I can' think of anything approaching this kind of achievement in boxing. That's me. Now, the odds is heavily favoring Canelo. Here in this forum the majority picks Kovalev to win. Outside on other platform I think if he beats Kovalev people will just think it was predictable and they won't make a huge deal out of it.

He would get the same kind of credit cotto did for stopping Martinez. and I think that's about right,

I’m just giving Big Red 100 respect for calling out and facing any LHW but Krusher is still very dangerous

Canelo won’t be appreciated until he’s retired. I believe he will go up and stop Kovalev. He’s absolutely brilliant.

Of course not, Alvarez never gets credit. He will get a barrage of mindless excuses.

Fans need to know the difference between robberies and close fights. Close fights are NOT robberies, they simply go either way or end up a draw. Good examples of daylight robberies are Chavez Sr. vs Whitaker, Holyfield vs Lewis I, Pacquiao vs Bradley I...etc.

This whole topic is lunacy. Someone explain to me how a moderately powered LMW that has 0 stoppage wins at MW, and one stoppage win above MW against a top 20ish guy is going to stop a LHW? I've seen so much crap on here and even in the general media of how Canelo is going to stalk, go to the body, and pound Kovalev into submission. Are we forgetting that to do this Canelo is going to have to avoid the incoming punches of one of the 10 biggest hitters in the sport, he has to stalk someone who's footwork is arguably better? All this against someone that is naturally 4 divisions larger.

Canelo ain't even the best MW, let alone top 5 at SMW but he's gonna stop one of the top 4 LHWs? When he's not even a big puncher? Not even an above average puncher? He couldn't stop Cotto (a JWW) on his last legs. He couldn't stop Danny Jacobs (who's been put down by Sergio ****in Mora), He couldn't stop Jr. (who literally rolled out of bed to fight him), he couldn't stop Golovkin (and he teed off on him), but he's gonna stop a LHW?

This is ridiculous. He is not gonna stop Kovalev, he's not gonna beat Kovalev.

More impotent , infantile bluster from iSAL the he/she of the forum...
How pathetic, having to call posters id names to try and provoke us, like he’s in a rubbish school debate.
iSAL & YEYO, it must be the lowest quality pairing in history of this Forum...standars are slipping in the IQ stakes guys!

I agree with everything you said. I also think Canelo is going to gas even quicker at 175 pounds. My only concern is that if Kovalev decides to box Canelo and doesn't stop him even though he might outland him in the fight, the judges will still give the fight to Canelo if he makes it all 12 rounds. Basically, it needs to be a rout or KO for Kovalev to win the fight.
