Tiger and Monzon would've nullified Duran's infighting whereas Hagler showed too much respect. Tiger and Monzon would've toyed with Mugabi but Hagler went war with him.

How would have Hagler fared in that great middleweight era of the 50's to mid 60's? Perhaps a contender to be honest.

Hagler not only nullified Duran's infighting but he bested him in there. Duran was forced to fight on the outside then, much of it safety first. Hagler could have forced him more at various times for sure.

Hagler was well worn and past peak by the time he fought Mugabi. He would have beaten him easily just a few years prior.

Quite surprised by so many votes for Robinson and others. Hagler is at least top 3 middleweight of all time.. He could box , he could brawl, he had arguably the best chin of any fighter in any weight class. Do people base this on Leonard beating him?

A really tough guy with speed, movement and combinations. Like Leonard or Monroe. I think Robinson is overrated at 160 by some, but his style and toughness are real trouble for Hagler.

I actually agree with you but If I had to bet on the winner it would still be Hagler at their respective 160 bests.

I wouldn't bet on any MW in history to beat MMH. Sure, many could, but there's a big difference between would and could.

Marvin was a great fighter. Not many guys could beat him in range and take the pressure of his strength and switching style and good counterpunching and 75 inch jab. He had weaknesses. He was quick, but not what some would say a fast fighter, which was another flaw. I think Marvin's problem at times was he was a bit robotic, which is how Leonard beat him. The Hearns fight was a great style for him since he fought more out of his robotic style and just went to war. It was different. And it was his most impressive fight. A fight where he fought a brawl.

What did Jones do at MW that equates to 20 title defences?
