No , its a great fight. Can't wait. Look at Kovalev flexing , he's in great shape and looking very lean and trim which could suggest he plans to use his legs like in the Alverez rematch.
If he boxes behind the jab and makes Canelo work hard he can drain his tank and hammer away at whats left in the later rounds.
Moving on the back foot behind his jab isn't going to expend much energy from Kovalev but Canelo will burn a lot by coming forward .
The defense he'll need to avoid the jab will put a drain on his stamina by itself. Kovalev is not an easy guy to get to.
Yarde launched a kamikaze attack and still couldn't do anything to him.
I could see Kovalev winning on points whrn Canelo puts all his efforts into defense after struggling too much with the range

Plenty of respect for each other too which is good to see.

This is kind of how I see it playing out. People think Canelo is going to "play it safe" and box to a UD but he really can't do that from the outside, he's not going to win on the outside. And he's not Pacquaio where he can strafe Kovalev on the inside and get out of range before taking damage; he doesn't have that kind of movement. If Canelo is going to win, he's going to need to work his way on the inside. While I think Kovalev doesn't fight well on the inside, Canelo is going to eat some shots to get there.

Honestly, if Canelo wins this fight I think he's going to take a lot of damage to do it. It won't be a "safe" decision.

I’m not interested because we all know what happens regardless of what actually happens in the actual fight if Canelo is still standing after 12 rounds. The scorecards in just about every Canelo fight have been bizarre. The scorecard in the Mayweather fight was criminal. Canelo might have won one round and that is being generous.

I understand where he is coming from, though. As Ward said, The Krusher no longer exists. Canelo has waited to fight an aging Sergei Kovalev, not The Krusher.

Having said that, though, I am looking forward to this fight because, even though I think Canelo wins it, I think Kovalev could surprise. We'll see.

I have work that night, so will probably miss it live (although with a little luck I might make it just on time if it starts late).

I'm interested enough that I will avoid my phone and all social media until I've had a chance to properly watch it in the event I'm stuck late at work.

    Very fired-up for this fight!

If Canelo wins this fight legitimately, I’ll become a major fan. If he wins by questionable decision again, my opinion will not change. If he wins and defends the belt against AB, I will be a fan for life even if he loses. This fight is interesting and I’m going to watch it but hope it’s not another robbery decision like some past fights. I want to see Canelo take the fight to Kov and have the best guy win. Kov is beatable and I don’t really have a favorite in this one. If Canelo loses, it shouldn’t count against him because he has no business at 175.

So... guys have to be undefeated or ATGs to do anything for you?

That its just two very good fighters in an intriguing styles and attributes matchup in a cross divisional fight with it being one of the more important matchups of their careers, makes you uninterested?

Thats a bizarre perspective from a supposed boxing fan, imo. Its an intriguing fight between two good fighters thats a meaningful one for both as well, in what should be a good fight.

i'm not paying to watch a dying sport that is marginally more on the up and up than pro wrestling and roller derby.
