They could fight every day for a year and every day I'd bet on Tucker, usually via UD

Tony TNT Tucker takes this fight by unanimous decision over Hassim Rahman. Tucker has a good chin, he took prime Iron Mike Tyson's thundering blows for 15 rounds, and walked down James Buster Douglas before kayoing him, in his bout before facing Tyson. Rahman can hit, but not like Mike could. Tucker keeps Hassim on the outside, with his long left jab and lateral movement to win.

Rahman seemed to me like a poor man's Liston. Was never big on the guy. Maybe because he cost me by losing to John, ahem, Ruiz. And then couldn't solve Oleg Maskaev either.

His match with Corrie Sanders, however, was like the ending to Rocky II.

Tucker all day, every day. Rahman does not have one single advantage here.

I picked Rahman. I think he’d want it more and Tucker would blow it. Or Tucker would get a late stoppage while behind.

Being able to stop Lewis and Sanders shows the kind of heart Rahman had. He was basically never behind on the cards against guys who sat back and boxed except Lewis. He didn’t know what to do against guys who mauled like Ruiz and Holyfield.

Tucker would box his ears off. He was fantastic in the 80s

Only vote so far for Rahman. Imo Tucker gets a decision but Rahman comes on strong at the end.

Tucker by UD in a ridiculously boring fight.

Prime Rahman struggled with fighters like Obed Sullivan, and got knocked out twice by Oleg Maskaev. The win against a totally unfocused Lewis was clearly a fluke. Lewis absolutely destroyed Rahman in the rematch. There was no call from Rahman for a rubber match. The win over the talented (but entirely inconsistent) Corrie Sanders is just about Rahman's only win over a quality opponent in their prime.

It’s pathetic that you won’t accept that Rahman knocked out Lewis.

He also destroyed Kali Meehan in a manner that Tucker never showed. I left open the chance of a late stoppage for Tucker because Rahman did blow it against Maskaev x 2 and Tua, but he was winning all of those fights.

There is nothing "pathetic" about that opinion. Lewis was out of shape and clowning around with his guard down when Rahman clocked him. A total fluke that was unlikely to occur again if they fought 10 more times.

I think the poll results here are pretty clear. Almost nobody agrees with your take on this.

So if you launch a right hand and graze the opponent, he moves straight back, and then you launch it again with bad intentions, and knock him cold, that’s a fluke?

Tucker’s biggest wins are stoppage over Douglas in a fight he might’ve been losing in and SD against Norris in a fight he arguably lost. Tucker had lots of potential but didn’t actually use much of it in the ring.

Two unimpressive hwts. Tucker outboxes the human statue to win the decision. An uneventful but one sided bout.

This. Rahman was a very limited fighter, and simply landed the punch of a life time against Lewis. He was basically a jab, jab, right hand fighter. Could not counter punch to save his life. That and he was ignorant as hell.

Tucker was no world beater, thou big and gifted. Tony didn't have "it". But he could easily beat Rahman.
