It's kind of bizarre how there hasn't been a generational fighter since Tyson.

In terms of genetic superiority there was Jack Johnson, then Dempsey, then Ali then Tyson but since then there hasn't been that fighter that stands out as different than the other fighters. I would say Vitali and Ibeabuchi were genetic standouts that could hold their own against any fighter in history but weren't as special as the other 4. You have all these heavyweight hopefuls coming up but not one has that awe factor, and no I don't consider the argument of the best of the best going into other sports, unless they box we don't know if they are truly fighters.

I'd say Lewis holds his own against all HWs better than Dempsey and Johnson

As for your point about Genetics, Wilder is in the conversation

At heavyweight yes. Manny Pacquiao is a generational fighter. As is Floyd

Canelo is the only generational fighter after Tyson.

If the topic is solely HWs: Both Fury and Wilder are genetic "anomalies".

Fury is too large/too oafish looking to be able to move the way he does, and yet......
Wilder is too small and frail of an individual to have the power he does, and yet...........

You can have 100 guys that have the same attributes as both but you wouldn't get the same fighter. They both really are genetic freaks.

Note: I'm not putting them in the pantheon of greats by any means, but they are definitely genetic "freaks"

There's quite a few guys under HW that are genetically "superior" though.

Wilder deserves a mention if we are talking about genetics. This is a guy who literally do not know the fundamentals of Boxing yet he wins.

I dont think you can count him as someone from this generation, but Luis Ortiz is already 60 years old and his still boxing at a high level.
