185lb for the MORNING of the fight as per IBF rules, which state that no more than 10lbs can be gained between the previous day weigh-in and the following morning's weigh-in.
However, after the morning weigh-in there is no further rehydration clause to meet so Kovalev or Canelo could in theory be 190lbs+ inside the ring.

Just seems a little smelly to talk the talk while hiding it until the last minute. But go ahead and shred me fanboys

On one hand this seems like shenanigans, but Kovalev despite his stature isn't really a very large LHW. What does he normally walk into the ring at?

Re-hydration clauses are shenanigans full stop. It is saying, I would like to fight you, but you can't be at full strength. Not sure what Kov typically comes in at, but if it means he is hungry or thirsty in any way following the weigh in, that is not cool.

Joke's on them, Kovalev rarely rehydrates past 185 anyway.:naughty2: And he's going to have less trouble this time than his last two fights, because he was still in shape from the Yarde fight.

    The fight means nothing?

It's the number 1 MW vs the number 2 LHW

When a fighter is restricting another fighter with rules that might hurt the other and put them at a disadvantage then yes the fight means nothing. When Kovalev knocks canelita out then it will look worse for him.

Its only an issue if he re-hydrates over 185lbs and i don't think he does so there's nothing to really complain about. Its in best interest to come in under that limit anyway so he is light on his feet.

Dan also said Kovalev is used to fighting with a 10lb weight limit. There's no issue here , just chronic CDS in full effect once again. :drooling:

I don’t mind the rehydration clause but it’s a b*tch move to insist on one when Oscar was boasting about no rehydration clause only recently. Canelo won’t let them weigh him most likely and will probably walk in at a roid-assisted solid 200lbs. Odds are slim but I hope Kov has enough gas in the tank to put Canella out of boxing for good. This guy is a Ginger snake and a weasel.
