better in skills and experience, but probably not athleticism. don't see too many thirty year old sprinters.

Your prime pretty much start at around 24ish in most sports.. Early to mid 30s is when you start to decline.. You said close to 30 isn't and 27 pretty damn close to 30...lol

I would have tried to defend Canelo given his great opposition but the whole Canelo weight thing at 155 he did just put me off as a fan.

boxing is not like other sports, your ideal physical peak comes later, when your man strength(yes its a thing) sets in, and your ligaments and other connective tissue has stiffened, so that theres not as much flexibility in your arm at the time of impact stealing energy. stamina and power are the most important things to have at a world level, to compete in boxing. the top distance runners and the worlds strongest men are all in their 30s. the reason boxers peak in late 20s is because speed is also a factor that affects success greatly.

Dude aurther Berterbiev will be 35 next year and people act like he's a prime killer, while father time is undefeated where your at in your career matters more highs and lows happen in most hof careers..
Going just based off facts at Jr MW Trout at age 30 was #1 unbeaten WBA regular Champ, Mayweather at 36 was P4P #1 WBC WW Champ and WBA Super Jr MW Champ, Lara at 30 was #1 Jr MW and WBA Super Champ, Smith at what 24/5 was top 5 Jr MW and IBF Champ. You can talk about age but he fought the #1 Guy 3 times and went 2-1 what more do you want

At MW at 34 Cotto was WBC and Lineal MW Champ and the technically #1 whether you want to argue weight or not coming off stoppage wins over Martinez the incumbent Champ and Geale a former 2x Champ, GGG at 34/5 was P4P unbeaten and pretty much undisputed MW Champ fought him twice, Jacob's at 30 was IBF Champ and the highest rated challenger behind Canelo and GGG.

Kovalev is currently at top 2 or 3 LHW Champ and is like 3 fights removed from being pretty much undisputed at 175..

Who else should he be fighting?? Berrerbiev just fought and is 35 also so that would fit the fighting old guys bit, Charlo and Andrade aren't even better or higher rated than Jacobs.

Personally I think Canelo if he wanted could rules 3 divisions with an iron fist WBO usually has crappy mandatories although at 175 every fight is dangerous so he could milk that title, would like to see him work back down to 160 in a healthy way and maybe take on Benevidez in a unification for the WBC & WBA at SMW, and finishing next year vs whoever is the highest rated Champ at 160 whether that be GGG Charlo or Andrade hopefully some combination fights each other instead of waiting around begging for a payday there new kids need to understand you have to fight someone good first

Morales is right. What's also true is that Canelo stacks the deck even against these old and shot fighters.

Errr no, you can't say it's because it's him, then use two other examples who have done the same thing.

And Canelo deserves it, he's a cheater.

He said all fans including himself would have preferred the GGG fight. Nothing else.

Some boxers also just age differently, and this is especially prevalent when you compare weight classes. For exame, Fly to Heavy.

    And then theres PEDs.

He'd have more of a point if he wasnt simultaneously advocating for a third Golovkin fight.

Kova is a better opponent than Golovkin is... so knocking this fight due to Kova being past it while wanting a Golovkin fight, doesnt really make sense.

That being said, yes... Canelos legacy is mainly built on past it fighters. Thats just a fact.

Hopefully after this fight he targets a prime'ish fighter.

Even if that would be true. You have ONE fighter with a possibly slightly better resume. How does the haterade taste bro?
