If Joshua wins it will be Ruiz lost weight as the reason,we know that's the excuse from PIN HEADs alike on here they will be lining up.

Somehow Joshua will easily out box Ruiz but on the forum he cant box worst case he forces Ruiz to box like he never had to ? These nitwits have been at it from day one on here ,somehow Aj is this lumbering slow fighter when hes been known in the past to deliver blistering 10/13 punch combos in under 2 seconds, go see the Mike Sprott fight.

Then you have King Clown on this thread ( no need to keep mentioning him ,we know who that is by now ) telling everyone not to obsess with body types when hes been crying about AJ's muscles for years now ? :jump1:

    It's over for your boy..

It doesn't matter how much Joshua deflates his muscles down he's still getting dropped on his head again.

What I will say is that previously I criticized Joshua for quitting, but now I think he did the right thing, considering he was on the brink of being killed by Ruiz the ring and his trainer was never going to pull him out of there even though he knre full well that he was severely concussed and didn't even tell him.

Go see Micheal Sprott fight? By the time Joshua fought Sprott, my granny could have delivered a blistering 10-12 punch combo on him.

Ruiz was 268 last fight. He looked close to 35% body fat. I would guess a lean body mass (what he would weigh with zero fat) of maybe 177, or between 175-180.

He showed significant skill & hand speed. Lighter he may have slightly less power & punch resistance, but that will be counter balanced, at least a bit, by having more foot speed.
And it can only help his aerobic endurance.

People go to extremes in all directions.
They also often attribute things to false causes.

Ruiz did not win because he was fat. Though he used his physique to his advantage.
That does not mean that if he loses weight at a reasonable pace & maintains muscle, he will be worse.
He should be at least a little better.
But whether he beats AJ again depends upon many other factors-strategies of both fighters & what Joshua does not least among them.

Yes, Ruiz is never likely to not be at least a little overweight.
    HWs can carry more fat.
It seems to me the best heavier HWs can easily come in at 20% BF-at least when they are older-& lose little or nothing.
Now a few like Ruiz may do nearly as well-& have much trouble getting leaner-at @ 25% BF.
I think that would be down near 235 for him.

This fight I think it best he gets at least halfway there, more if he can.
Then next fight, all the way down.
Foreman around that weight in his comeback is a *good* comparison.
He was very fat & older when he started out.
Eventually he was in the mid 230's-& I think that he was correct that it was too light for him then. He seemed to lose muscle temporarily.
But he was taller with more muscle than Ruiz-so should carry more weight.

When he was 257 vs. Holyfield, he was likely about ideal for his age & body type & cagey slugger skill set then.
I think this is a good example of a HW fighter who had been obese, & one of not too many, who then came down but was just fine at @ 25% BF.

    What do you guys think?
Do you agree both that Ruiz could be better equipped lighter, but can still be relatively chubby at 235 & be near ideal?

This will backfire big time for Ruiz and his team. He's fighting a taller more muscular guy, and he's unnecessarily weakening himself. He don't need the extra mobility to beat Joshua. He's gonna walk into something big, and won't get up this time.

You ever hear about a rapper named Vanilla Ice? They way he went out the rap game? If AJ gets KO's again. He WILL be the Black N British Vanilla Ice of HW boxers shamed for the rest of all boxingdom.

You've hit the nail on the head with all points.

What you just written is not up for debate, so no need for anyone else to agree.

What's he gonna weigh? He looked so good against AJ, if he's ditching 25lbs I think it's dangerous.

If 25lbs of that is excess fat, then it can only improve his performance.

Remember Joshua has also slimmed down and lost weight. So they both will be going in with less weight than before, so will even out.

Ruiz ability has nothing to do with excess fat.

He will still be big and strong enough to drop Joshua on his head.

Many heavyweights add weight. There was a quote from Ruiz's trainer saying he "Fights better fat. Leave him alone." Changing anything dramatically after a big win can be ill-advised. And he's never weighed less than 245 in the ring, I don't think.

I'd like to see him at about 255. Hope he doesn't go crazy and **** the whole thing up.

Bravo for Ruiz jr, he's taking boxing seriously. This may sound strange but he could have lost too much weight. If you drop 40 pounds you going to lose some power. 230 is a good weight for Ruiz.

I have to say Ruiz's popularity is understated. I know quite a few Latino boxing fans living in South Florida who are very proud to have a heavyweight champion like Ruiz jr. Most of them re below 30 years of age. If I say what about John " the quiet man " Ruiz, they say who. The older fans know who John Ruiz was, but don't claim him. So it's just not Andy Ruiz being Latino American born, its his style too.

I am not sure. My thinking still is if this guy is champion now, we don't live in a very skilled era of heavyweights. Can you imagine Larry Holmes fighting this guy? Wouldn't even be a challenge. Or Tyson vs. Ruiz? It wouldn't go 2 rounds.
