Sure, but he was always been fighting in the light heavyweight division.

Some light heavies manage the transition north better than others.

There is no transition required so far as I can see.

He's been fighting guys who weigh 180-185lbs and he weights 180-190lbs. This describes nearly every important match in Marciano's career.

OK, you might have to factor in Kovalev being a little bit better if you want to (because he doesn't have to train weight loss) and a little bit bigger if you want to, but that's it.

I mean if you wanted to be strict with yourself over this you could limit it to his matching Marciano opponents no more than 195bs I suppose.

Even on that basis, everybody that he fought had to make a 175lb weigh in, before the fight took place.

Success against them, would not necessarily translate into success against somebody like say Rex Layne, in a heavyweight or catchweight fight.

The bottom line is that he might be another Harold Johnson, or he might be another Bob Foster.

I think it's just a question of how he does against the best that Marciano faced. The rest is pretty much irrelevant.

His biggest problem is his gas tank. Durable guys who can take his power and extend him would have the best chance. Even a slobberknocker like Layne, if he could do the above, would have a chance. However, I wouldn't pick him.

    I would certainly favor Walcott.

I said a lot not al of Rock`s opponents, Charles had a lot of talent and probably would have been too much for Kov.

Charles was a lot more skilled than Spinks and Foster.

But had issues with awkward fighters, especially with power.

Walcott was more difficult to fight than Spinks and Foster were.

Disagree, Spinks is better H2H at LHW and HW than Walcott imo.
Foster is harder to beat at LHW than Wallcott is at HW imo.

Walcott had more skill than both of them.

Spinks didn't really do enough at heavyweight, to show that he was better than Walcott.

When did I say that Spinks's offence was better?
I do think he hit harder and was more explosive but there on similar levels.

Maybe, but we did see alot of him at HW. Are there 40 rounds of footage of Walcott at HW?
