I bet you know the answer to your question. It’s pretty obvious. In the eyes of his fans, Canelo can do no wrong. They manage to come up with fresh excuses for him every time.

To the OP, 3 months is like a full summer break. Kovalev had enough time to recover and adjust to his next opponent. Also his huge amateur career probably helps in that regard. And I don't think Canelo will be his hardest fight. I am sure Ward, Alvarez and Yarde were more difficult challengers for the russian.

What 3 months? More like 9 weeks. Kovalev used the first 3 weeks to recover from the Yarde fight, and had 6 weeks to train against Alvarez. 6 weeks are never enough against such a high level opponent.

im sure kovalev is crying into the pay cheque for one fight that equals more than what he made in his entire career up to this point about having to weight the exact same weight he's weighed on fight day his entire career.

What I mean by 3 months is he fought in August and then in November. But the time between the two fights is exactly the same as a summer break. And for an active fighter like Kovalev who been fighting because it is his job, it is all he needs. I will not mention the classic time of boxing when professionals were fighting multiple times a month. Also, Kovalev did not suffer a knockdown and although he had problems against Yarde he was clinically OK after the fight. He was looking fresh and ready during the weight in yesterday.

I really like the odds. Will try to find some place to put a bet on Kovalev.

Kovalev once mentioned that he's about 187-190 lbs on the fight night.

i'm here wondering what he weighed for Yarde because the only info i can find is 189lbs back in 2015 against pascal. if he's usually around the high 180s, 185lbs in the clause several hours before the bout isn't a huge ask.
