If they fight an old guy a month and a half after he's had a taxing fight. Oh yeah add a rehydration clause then sure why not?
GGG might get slaughtered at 175 but not by Joe Smith ffs GGG would murder Joe Smith, people would think GGG is a destroyer if he fought face first Joe Smith. Joe Smith would not even beat Callum Johnson, let alone the likes of Yarde or Buatsi and they are just Brit level guys. Think GGG could get to lower world level even @ 175. I think GGG loses a bit of energy/power cutting to 160. He would be much stronger and more energetic @ 168. I don't care what anyone says, GGG would still be a reasonable sized 175lber. He is a freak at 160. GGG is miles bigger than Canelo, and Canelo looks ok @ the weigh in
Its more about who they choose to fight, moreso than what weight they choose to fight at. Can any middleweight beat Beterbiev or Bivol? Not imo.
The real question is with Beterbiev having fought 2 weeks ago would you give GGG a shot against him if they fought in 7 more weeks with a rehydration clause? It wouldn't be a shocker if he pulled it off but I'd lean towards Beterbiev.
I can't see an aging Golovkin fighting at 175 with success , Bivol and probably Beterbiev wear him out. Canelo at 175 vs GGG? Canelo takes it. If Kovalev beats Canelo, GGG should he should fight Kovalev as his cash out fight
Golovkin is too old to move up in weight like that unless he hops on extra Mexican beef. Smaller fighters have a chance only if they have a speed advantage. The thing is all the current champions at 175 are faster than Golovkin.
Speed is the difference maker and skill. Hearns had great speed and he beat Andries easily. Just decided to move up and fight one day and won the title just like that. Sibson moved up and fought Andries and was stopped months before. It is the quality and speed. Leonard weakened Lalonde so I don't know how that would go. but he sort of outclassed him.
