Seriously, I think Kovalev is being sold short. Watch his fights with Pascal, Cleverly and Hopkins. The guys a beast, he was much much better than LaStarza and Cockell no matter how ever you spin it, there's also the fact that on fight night he probably weighs similar to Marciano.

I'm not picking him to win, that needs to be perfectly clear.

However I can see this being a very good win for Marciano.
Kovalev's jab would give Rocky issues like Louis's and his feet would keep him out of range whilst he's still running on full gas. There's also a good chance that Marciano could get caught off balance by a great right hand and hit the deck momentarily. I see Rocky throwing (and landing) to the body whilst taking some bad shots, he'd hurt Kovalev with Suzie Qs and wear him down. Marciano's face is ****ed, he's slightly down on points but it's close due to his workrate.
Then Marciano finally lands that dig to put the nail in the coffin.

Kovalev can’t take it to the body. He would be destroyed by Marciano as Rocky would be hammering the body very early. Rocky by KO within 8 rounds.

Logic would dictate that Marciano batters him

And even then, he'd be best served by bulking up to his HW form so that he has more on his punches and can take the harder shots. If he'd have came into the ring 170 something vs Larry Holmes, Holmes would've walked away with 49-0. For Marciano, I'd like to see Spinks at 205-208 pounds. When he fought Cooney, at 208 pounds he looked like a legit heavyweight.

I feel Kov could have beaten Spinks at 175 and cruiserweight, his offensive skills are better than anyone Spinks fought at any weight.

Spinks was the far greater fighter. He would have knocked Kovalev out at Lt hwt.

Spinks couldn`t have taken Kov`s power and didn`t have his jab, Kov has better offensive skills.

Funny part is not only was Spinks's lightheavy resume better than Kovalev's, but Michael never lost and was never off his feet at 175. Prime Michael would have destroyed any version of both Kovalev and Ward at 175. And I would have bet the house on prime Qawi doing the same as well

I think Kov is an amazing offensive fighter and used feints better than anyone Spinks beat.

I agree, but I think Spinks has a better jab and there's a pretty big difference between being better than anyone Spinks beat at 175, and beating Spinks at 175.

I can't see Kovalev outjabbing Spinks, based on the fact his had issues with Ward's counter jab but it'd be a very good fight.

As you can see I rate Spinks highly.

Kov uses his jab smarter and more constantly, he also opens fighters up better and misses with less shots on average.

Spinks had a hell of a chin. He just couldn't take top shelf heavyweight power
    when hit clean.

Kovs stopped by light hitting Ward but he's going to take Michael Spinks bombs. I simply don't get it
