Kovalev has definitely been on a decline since 2016. No one can argue against this, he got knocked out by Ward, Alvarez, and hurt badly by Yarde. But he definitely wasn't completely shot, and still a formidable LHW. Canelo jumping up 2 weight classes and knocking him out is an amazing win. He is p4p #1, you can combine Loma and Crawford's resume and they still wouldn't even get close to what Canelo has achieved. Wow... bravo Canelo, you really dared to be great.
