what a load of ****. why even bother to so blatantly lie when everyone can see the damn clip on youtube? get a grip.
1. Kovalev fought the fight he and his trainer wanted to fight. I thought it worked brilliantly until the 11th. Goal was to not wear himself out, and not put himself in danger of a big Canelo shot. 2. The punch that hurt Kovalev would have hurt anyone. Huge over the top chopping hook he did not see. Until that point in the fight, Canelo had landed nothing of consequence to get Kovalev's attention. So he probably wasn't expecting it and was a bit off-balance and winded when it hit. 3. He's old. He's never taken great care of himself and he did the best he could. I thought he did amazing until the final round. Guys get old, they lose skills, they lose punch resistance, they decline. It happens. Ali lost to Leon Spinks.
a washed up 36 year old alcoholic who just had a hard fight 2 months ago managed to carry a lead into the championship rounds against the Vegas darling who cherrypicked him. Vegas boxing is a soap opera now. It's best to not be taken seriously.
thanks for reasonable comment. In our time most athletes arent completely shot to shits at 36yo, but who knew what Kovalev is doing in his free time? I am pretty sure he doesnt have discipline of Hopkins or Hagler. Some russian boxing youtuber said that he got an email from very reliable source that Kovalev is a drinker.
He's not even 50% of what he once was. All he has left is a good jab everything else has badly diminished. He's been as happy as Larry since he got the gig and was finally able to earn the kind of purse his talent has always deserved after all the hardships he's had to endure both in and out of the ring. He's been through an awful lot and it's taken a huge toll on him both mentally and physically.
That KO was legit. Kovalev had his best rounds right before the stoppage, and had no time to recover before that last shot.
Yeah. Kovalev is a drinker, from what I've heard. I think that's pretty well-established. And that will wreck your body fast. Honestly, I thought the guy fought a great fight tonight and I had him way ahead. Give Canelo credit. He made an opportunity and he capitalized on it. Canelo is a good fighter. I like Kovalev. Always have. But these are real human beings, not robots, and some guys just take better care of themselves than others. As I said, Ali lost to Leon Spinks late in his career (a loss he avenged). Father Time beats us all. Some sooner than others. No disgrace here. He got caught. It happens. But until that point in time, he acquitted himself well. Even if he didn't go full "Krusher" and head-hunt Canelo. It was just the strategy his team came up with, right or wrong.
This content is protected Canelo could not have put any more sheer force on that punch than he did. look at the torque he's got on the punch from his hips and torso. that was an absolutely killer shot. And it landed right below kovalevs ear meaning the fairly large surface area of the glove would have definitely impacted his upper jaw which is a sensitive spot. The follow up punch was on the money and put him down. put that on 0.25 speed if you still have doubts. You guys need to stop reaching. That was a legit monster of a punch.
i noticed it too. First he says it was a good camp cuz he didnt took a big break before the fights, then you see him on couch smiling and being totaly unfocused and after the fight he makes excuses. Not a good look. He stopped pursuing the greatness. All what he said how he came back after losses and now he has something to prove in the most important fight of his life was a cheap talk. He wasnt honest.
