Brotha, I'm just being nostalgic. It felt like yesterday that the fight happened. I honestly never expected such great things from Canelo, I knew he was special, but the humiliation from that Floyd fight is something hard for fighters to bounce back from. I give major props to Canelo, you don't think I'm a huge Canelo fan? I had him p4p #1 before this fight even was announced! He's one of my top 5 favorite fighters at the moment.

Did I say I wasn't? It is Canelo time. Today, it is Canelo time and who said it isn't? Canelo is a P4P top 5 fighter and most likely an ATG too. But it sure wasn't Canelo time when he stepped into the ring with Mayweather aka TBE because it was TBE time then. 12 rounds of TBE and not a single second of Canelo time. Yeah, that's right! It's always ignorant fools like you can't can't face the truth, the past and deny history. You know it. That's why people like me relive and remember the past because that's when history was made. We acknowledge what happened and celebrate the truth and greatness.

We don't need a reminder. We know how great Floyd was. He was one of the greatest of all time. But we can't just say that Floyd's stock goes up everytime Canelo wins. It's childish and something a casual would say. An awful lot has happened in the last 6 years. First of all, Canelo was very naive and stood off of Floyd all night long, where he wouldn't press him at all. He seemed terrified of getting countered. Now maybe Floyd would have beaten this current version too? We don't know. But what we know for certain, is that Floyd did not fight this current version of Canelo, just like Canelo didn't fight the version of Kovalev that easily shut out Bernard Hopkins. It would be pretty pointless if anybody made a thread claiming that Canelo was better than Hopkins on the grounds of last nights result. Canelo is a great fighter. Floyd was greater. There's no need for Floyd tribute threads like this.
