It was a great and surprising win for Canelo, I had Kovolov ahead on points with his left jab and combinations. Giving Alvarez his kudos, he proved me wrong, did not need the judges. But I have always said that Artur Beterbiev is a much tougher and better champion than Kovolov. Canelo will not be able to stop the power punching monster coming at him in Artur Beterbiev. Artur by KO 12. It will resemble a locomotive running over a vintage Volkswagon. Watch De La Hoya's team avoid Beterbiev, like Floyd avoided Manny, for a few years, until he started to slide.

Is Beterbiev a one-handed shot fighter who can't pull the trigger anymore, doesn't sit down on his shots and even when he does his power has badly diminished, and whose timing, coordination, punch resistance, reflexes, accuracy etc. have clearly eroded?

Does Artur drink like a fish and have very poor stamina?

Is he 4-4 in his last 8 fights, including getting KO'd or stopped in 3 of those losses to relatively light punchers and who came within a whisker of getting KO'd by a rank novice (which would've made him 3-5 in his last 8 fights) whose best win is a shot 39 y/0 career SMW who was D level in their prime?

Kovalev is a very pale shadow of his former self, Beterbiev is a monster.

Kovalev without his savage punching power and brutal thumping right hand simply isn't Kovalev anymore.

Beterbiev would've sparked out this version of Kovalev in a round or 2 and everyone knows it.

I will be absolutely shocked if Canelo agrees to fight Beterbiev. Even if Alvarez is crazy enough for that challenge, his team is not and they will try to do their best to change Canelo's mind.

I think Canelo may take on Pascal next if he stays at 175. Thats the next winnable fight at 175.

How many top 10 light heavies can Canelo beat, he would beat Yarde and Kov is better than any other light heavy in the world.

Ruiz would destroy Beterbiev and so would AJ.

Initial gut reaction is to go with the Biev but then again that's the same reaction I had when Canelo/Kova was announced.

Depends how much Oscar is willing to dish out for another "win". I predict the fight will be Beterbiev throwing sparring punches that wouldn't hurt an elderly woman, lazily traipsing around the ring like he's doped up on inhibitors, forgetting the most basic defensive fundamentals and Canelo scoring a late "knockout".

Beterbiev would not take a dive. If he did, Ramzan Kadyrov would chase his entire family out of Checnnya and probably murder Artur himself.

These mountain Muslims are a different breed altogether. Honour comes before money. Beterbiev did not work this hard for the last 20 years to take dive from a Mexican drug cartel backed cheating boxer.

Before Kovalev fight I was 100 percent sure Bertebiev would win and I still think he would manhandle him but I realy wasnt expecting Canelo to have such power at 175.

There is no way on earth Canelo beats Beterbiev. No fkn way. Everyone who thinks he has a chance is delusional af. Beterbiev is a different animal compared to Kovalev.

Do you guys reallyt hink Canelo beats Prime Kovalev who is just a killer? Come on...

Canelo deserves credit for taking the fight. It's still a former Junior Middleweight vs. a legit world class Top 5 Light heavyweight...but come on, Kovalev is old and declining + had three high profile fights in 9 months at age 36.

It is securing Canelo as a P4P #1 , yes, but he has no chance vs Gvozdyk, Beterbiev or Bivol. NO CHANCE. And he knows that. Thats the reason why he fought Kovalev and why he never fights one of those three.

Kovalev has no punch resistance? Did you see the punches that Yarde landed on him?
