Me neither, though arguably slower than prime Mike's.

Lennox Lewis had good power, more than Ron Lyle, but his punching power is dwarfed, when compared to the likes of let's say a prime George Foreman and Earnie The Acorn Shavers, as Ali used to call him. Those guys could send you into dreamland early, with one punch. Lewis could hit, but he usually wore an opponent down first. Those two hit a past his prime Muhammad Ali, and he withstood their bludgeoning right hands, without tasting the canvas.

Their was a reason he was called the mummy. I don't think it was because he wrapped himself in bandages!

It was because of his awkward stance stalking his opponent with both hands out. He Could be alarmingly quick when you were actually in the ring with him. Knew how to cut it off. Ask Ali.

Lewis had better boxing skills than either Foreman or Shavers. He didn't just depend on power. His mindset was that of a boxer. He mastered distance, let his opponents try to work their way in at their own risk.
He set up his power more patiently. That is why he would have a better chance vs Ali. Lennox isn't gonna be clumsey and winging wide shots, half falling in like Foreman. He would attempt to walk Ali into shots.
No doubt it would be an interesting tactical fight. Lewis could hurt Ali. No question.

Pre-Steward Lewis would have fallen to both Shavers and Foreman. Steward-Lewis stops Shavers, decisions George.

All four were top tier all time heavyweight KO punchers. W his size, skill, focus and ring IQ, Lewis was the best fighter of the bunch and didn’t have to rely on pure power like Foreman and Shavers. Lyle in a way tried the same but started much older than Lennox, fought a career w a post near death stabbing injury that impacted him physically to some degree and simply wasn’t as fast or good. Four all time crazy powered guys.

Some (somehow) don't seem to realize Lewis had IMMENSE power.

Even Pre-Steward Lewis would quite likely pole axe Shavers early. Far lesser fighters did. Look at what he did to Ruddock. Shavers wasn't all that even with his immense power. He was vulnerable early against big punchers. Lewis would start fave imo even if he was a bit sloppy at that stage.

Lewis rates up there for pure power.

But he was a more cerebral fighter hence he wasn't as aggressive or dangerous as Foreman and Shavers but probably better suited late than both. Foreman was physically stronger but rawer and Earnie was smaller and less talented.

Lyle ranks below all for power but was tougher than Shavers and as tough as Lewis though less gifted.
