Did Canelo need a TKO coming into round 11 to win.!!

welli am watching it now and i wold be suprised to goes as far as 11, Kov is easily smashing Canelo up.

But he is going to easy on him, he should let his hands go.

Up to Round 6 now. KO is next round, pretty sure.

 

Where as the DAZN scorer gave the first three rounds to Kovalev based on Kovalev throwing ineffective pawing jabs, I had the fight at a round a piece after 3 with one round even.
At the time of the KO, I had Canelo up 6-3-1.

I think Canelo felt his way through the first 3 or four rounds having studied Kovalev's weaknesses from the Andre Ward fights.
The way Canelo's corner was giving him instruction, they were pretty confident there that Kovalev would be there for the taking in the late rounds and they were absolutely right.
Canelo closed the show where others might be leary to try and do so against a dangerous puncher like Kovalev.

 

Canelo always likes to win the last two rounds of his fights.

 

Wasn`t Canelo having trouble landing his counter lefts for a long while and scared of Kov`s right hands until he turns things around though.

 

I had it 6-4 Kova going into the 11th, so a KD would be enough for Canelo to win it.

 

I had Kovalev up 6-4 going into the 11th.

 

That's exactly what it was.

 

The occasional sneaking in of a hard shot upstairs along with a consistent body attack without a doubt to me carries more weight than being in defensive mode where your offense is a pawing jab that virtually is ineffective in every sense of the word.

To have Kovalev ahead in the fight to me is to ignore everything that is effective in a fight and defiantly score the fight by amatuer rules where a tap counts just as much as a full blown leveraged shot that lands hard and flush.
Its really laughable for anyone to have Kovalev up in the fight when you consider that the connects in the fight were basically even.
Realizing that, how the hell can anyone score for Kovalev when Canelo's shots were that much harder????

 

Kovalev was ahead 97-93 from what i saw but the fix was already in with the judges, of course.

ESPN Dan also had it 97-93 for Kovalev. He even saw it as it was.

 

Anybody know the judges cards?

 

I had it a draw going into the 11th. For me personally, he needed a knockdown to secure a decision victory because Kovalev was generally doing better.

 

6-4 kovalev was my score going into that round

 

A lot of people I know personally also had it exactly like you as far as the scores go. Whether the fix was in or not, the result was decisive and that’s all that matters.

 

Kovalev was controlling the fight and Canelo with his jab, it`s called boxing, when he stopped he got knocked out.
