Still better than fighting guys like Lemieux, Rubio, Brook, Stevens, Osumanu..etc. No wonder he exploded into these guys as minimum 20/1 favorite and in the majority of times he was 100/1. Even your toilet would have better odds slipping you over than any of Golovkin’s “Middleweight reign of terror” fights.
How was he better? He wouldn’t even be top 10 nowadays, anyway I’m going to leave it there as once again you are making a topic not about GGG into one and you are dragging me down into it too. I just love the fact GGG is in your head rent free. Keep it classy “scar”
So you scored the 1st for Kovalev? Go back and watch that round and tell me when he lands a punch of any significance.
How was he better?, are you for real?. Do I have to repeat to you how Rubio was openly laughed at as an opponent for Pavlik FIVE YEARS BEFORE GOLOVKIN FOUGHT HIM?. The division that Golovkin dominated was a joke. That’s why Brook, a Welterweight, became his biggest fight ever when it finally signed. He went to England with his paper titles for it too or else even Brook wouldn’t have given him the free payday. When you can’t find opponents, you eventually move up and force big fights. You can’t make an impression by primarily fighting bums and hope the big names that worked hard to make their names recognized give you a free payday. Only Alvarez finally decided to give him the free payday and he gets insulted for it too. All this hype about him having Mike Tyson-like power proved to be absolute farce too. So after spending over an hour, you now realize you don’t want to go “down” into the discussion. Take care regardless, at least you kept things civil for a change. We just don’t see eye to eye here I guess.
Nah man, with respect, your scoring was just off base. I’m not being rude, I’m just saying you view it as a “robbery” because you scored it wrong. The clean effective punches, the effective aggression, was pretty one sided. Kovalev patty patted Canelo’s gloves for the majority of the fight, that’s not impressive to judges...generally speaking.
Allens best wins are council and Mendoza the rest are journeymen at best and he was stopped every time he stepped up. Rubios victory over Lemieux is far better than anything Allen did.....go look up his record, it was abysmal. Also if GGG had fought Allen you’d be calling him a bum chaser, just imagine if he had to face him 3 times?
It is still no better than the bums Golovkin faced. Again, as I already said, only difference is, the easy pickings he took on are on par with Golovkin’s biggest fights. Hopkins still has a lot of major wins to cover up for that. Golovkin has nothing and he’s nearing the end of his career. Also, no one back then was hyping Hopkins the way Golovkin received hype and praises when he was devouring bums. That’s what forced Hopkins to eventually chase more dangerous fights. Golovkin didn’t need to because he was still well paid for dispatching hopeless opponents.
What major wins did he get? Outside of Trinidad, he went through fighters no better than what is on show today or prior. From Jones, Taylor was his first true test and he failed. Again what would YOU say if GGG had fought Allen 3 times?
GGG has yet to show that he’s willing to take risks like Hopkins. That’s objective. He didn’t fight Jones or move to 175.
Yet it’s a good enough excuse when Rubio is Golovkin’s mandatory. Certain guys like who?, who would want to give him a free payday when he has done nothing worth mentioning for it?. This is a business as much as it is a sport. You have to aim for dangerous fights, move up in weight and do everything you can if you want serious recognition and respect.
