Canelo has proven to be one of the best fighters ever...whatever his detractors say...and for many his technique still has room for improvements. He said he want to make history of sports. Besides in recent times Tyson and Tua have proven not very tall boxers can beat taller and heavier guys. In your opinion could the HWs be the main target of Canelo from here on out...or not? What major hurdles could he encounter on the way to reach a title in the queen category?
He and his promoters could decide to jump the cruisers and target the HWs directly. After all in this boxing era everything "seems" possible...why not?
He isn't James Toney, so no. Maybe against some jorneyman who happens to hold fake HW title, like Manuel Charr. Ruiz, AJ and Wilder destroy him in early rounds.

By Ruiz, you mean John, right? I think Canelo could best John Ruiz today. Maybe with more strong nutritional medicine, he could grow another 50lbs and fight at HW. It would be freakish and fun to watch. I don’t think he could beat a legit top SMW or LH but this freak show is fun to watch. I hope they keep it going.
