Sadly I think you're right. Donaire is a class act and it would've been great to see him fight this opponent in his prime. At 37 I just hope he accounts himself well and gets out without too much damage. I would hate to see him seriously hurt at this late stage of his career.

Hoping for an honourable showing and for him to then announce his retirement.

I think Donaire lasts a while and does land something then sits back to admire his own work.

    Inoue by KO.

Nonito is way past his best but unlike Sergey Shotalev he still has his vicious power and throws punches with mean intentions with both hands and is trying to do you serious damage and get you out of there. His chin isn't cracked either and he doesn't gas hard in the second half of the fight. We haven't really seen Inoue's chin tested by a big puncher, well certainly not up in this weight category we haven't, and obviously Nonito packs a very hefty wallop indeed.

Donaire lumps and bruises easily. Expect to see Donaire's face a mask of horror if it goes past 3 rounds.

Let's have Inoue by decision. I think it will be a very cautious start, smart boxing with some scary moments on both sides, but alert enough Noni and Inoni to see it through in a competitive fight where ppl. will call the latter "overrated" cause they are so used to his fast KO's.

HOWEVER, it's entirely possible that he connects big, or Donaire does, or Noni just proves to be too big and strong and even wins a decision off hurting and pushing Inoue around. Noni dropped and stopped so many of my favorites to put fear and respect into my soul. So I hope he doesn't get hurt.

If Inoue cannot stop Donaire in the first 7 rounds then he'll be in a serious trouble. Donaire can make another big upset like he did against Darchinyen.

Wasn't Donaire losing to Ryan Burnett? Would he even be there if not for that injury?

He was behind on the cards, but clearly troubling Burnett before the injury. Wouldn't have surprised me as he had stopped Burnett eventually.
Don't forget, Donaire's only loss at the weight has been to prime Rigo, and even against him he was very competitive up until the huge punch to the eye in the final round.
