    He should almost certainly have a fight first. Canelo is too good a boxer to go in with rusty. After that yes huge money and winnable fight

    How much interest would there be? It's difficult to know from the UK but Ward never seemed to have attracted the following that you may expect given his achievements. Is there a clamour to see him back in the ring?

    Had this been 6 months earlier I think 100% Andre Ward would have came back to fight Canelo in a fight that would have determined the fighter of the decade. But at the moment with the year and decade ending I think he’ll stay retired..

    That was my impression.

    There's been rumours a couple of times. Bellew was dropping his name when they were floating possible opponents for his big farewell PPV, but then Usyk clearly fitted better into Matchroom's plans and that all died off.

    That was for a UK fight though, there wasn't any suggestion that a big US following would mean the fight would move to the States.

    Also not sure if Ward would be up for it? There's a difference between Bellew and Canelo believe it or not...

    it would sell. not because of wards appeal, but because of the legitimacy he brings to a resume. canelos team knows what it would mean to legacy. at this point, thats all canelo has left to fight for. he will be making obscene amounts of money no matter who he fights, so im thinking he wants the fights that will look the best 20 years from now.

    He claimed he was having trouble prior to the Kovalev fights.

    Would rather see Beterbiev in there than Ward.

    Ward would school Canelo in a stinker. Not the kind of fight I want to see.
