Was on sky box office channel so perfect. Be a long time before I feel another POV warrants paying for though
Casual fans and big heavyweights keep the sport alive and out of the smoky bingo halls in this country. If you didn't have guys like chisora to carry these dwarf fights they would be held in leisure centers, world title or no world title.
The thing is Taylor is very much unknown. His been slumming it on C5 with no promotion and then his thrown on PPV. He needs a proper promoter.
Chisora is a well matched gatekeeper gimmick known for kissing, biting, spitting, throwing tables, hitting women and getting decked by david haye in a press conference 8 years ago, Josh Taylor and Regis Prograis was an epic fight between two world level possibly elite talents KSI vs Logan Paul will do more buys too but I know which one will be more value for money if you actually like..you know.. high level boxing
It's like this If you are in the pub and 2 5'6" 130lb midgets started going at it everyone would be laughing their asses off If two 6'2 250lb behemoths square up everyone goes quiet, tge anticipation of two collosus' facing off creates electricity in the air Same with boxing, yeah some nice flashy technique is pretty to look at but most people want to see the big boys who they know would beat the little fellas heads off if they didn't have weight classes, skill or no skill.
There would also be a 7 figure amount of people in the UK that watched the fight live on other channels. Shows that PPV is a complete irrelevance to the UK viewers these days as only a very small %a ge of the population are PPV mugths.
is chisora actually popular? who actually would want to fork out for a PPV to watch an average at best heavyweight?
£20 was steep, the numbers would have been much higher otherwise. I'll bet loads who were on the fence between buying it and streaming it would definitely have bitten at £12. Others will have plumped for regular Saturday night TV. It's so greedy and short-sighted. Even more annoying when they have the genuine article in Josh Taylor (who needs more exposure) in a showcase against a guy like Prograis.
