If I were in Canelo's shoes I would go after Call'm Smith at 168 next. Why? If he really wants the 3 division champ at once without the asterisk*, he has to win the legit WBA 168 belt instead of the one he took from Callum's TKO1 victim Rocky "such a nice lad, and oh so brave" Fielding.
After that the trilogy vs Golovkin outside of Vegas or Texas would be preferred for me. There's a lot of unfinished business there too, despite him claiming he beat Golovkin twice, because most fans saw it quite differently.

Let Ward stay retired, as I don't think he will be as dangerous as Bivol or Beterbiev anyway because it would definitely end up on the cards, and with Ward's boxer/spoiler style I don't think he'll be likely to get the decision against Canelo.

He will always attract serious crowds regardless of opposition. That has been obvious with Alvarez for a while now. Immediately following his fight with Mayweather, he made 350k buys fighting Angulo. DAZN wouldn’t invest that much in him unless they were sure he’s going to sell big regardless.

Sure I agree, but each fight on DAZN (Kovalev was 3/11 for him) has to be profitable. To be paying him $35m on average means they have to be clearing $40m per fight to pay just him and his opponent. Beyond that there are other sactioning fees, taxes, etc etc. My estimation is that they need to be making $50-60m per Canelo fight to retain solvency on this venture alone. That would mean 400,000 to 600,000 new subscribers (I'm excluding live gates and TV fight rights here) per Canelo fight.

They NEED to keep this growing, otherwise stagnant to negative growth means a lack of solvency for DAZN in their Canelo investment.

Frankly, I want to see him face bigger and better opponents. It keeps boxing overall in a much better position, even if we have to stomach the blatant underhandedness and corruption that follows Canelo wherever he goes.....

Surely they can easily afford the price they invested in him, which is why it looks like they are taking their time with making DAZN available internationally. At the moment only a handful of countries are able to subscribe to them.

As far as facing bigger and better opponents is concerned, businesses aim for casuals. So expect them to aim for opponents that have at least some form of popularity. That is why I expect them to approach Golovkin for a third fight. Because even though it’s not as good as a fight with a top Light Heavyweight or Super Middleweight, it makes more financial sense.

I think Golovkin in third fight might not be as hopeless as he seems.
Canelo was able to win the 2nd fight with GGG using his movement and quick counters. If the 3rd fight is north of 160 then Canelo will be slower than before and Golovkin will be able to land more.
Meanwhile GGG has a granite chin, that extra power Canelo has shouldn't bother him.

Canelos next fight will probably be some all-mexican showdown against Zurdo or someone like that.

i think it will be ggg, no other fight will sell as much with as little risk. he should leave the lhw alone, he got his free meal, now get back where you belong. bjs might be an option, easy fight that would sell in uk. charlo might be worth looking at, his name might end up being meaningful one day, hes part of the wave of mw that will take over once todays top talent moves on.
i would be doing all i can to lure ward back for 1 more.

I don't think he'll get near Beterbiev or Bivol and Gvozdyk is still a dangerous guy in my opinion. Pascal sounds about right

The elephant in the room is that canelo is a lot tougher and stronger that many are willing to admit

I dunno what variety and chess match did you see. Looked like shitty ass sparring session. Kovalev throwing only jabs, canelo marching forward with high guard without throwing anything. Kovalev gassing and getting KTFO.

Everybody knows he has a granite chin. That's how he 'wins' most of his fights

You're not on Rumsfeld's level bro. His left nut knows more boxing than you.

I would really like to see him take a soft touch at SMW, and then fight Callum Smith in September. I think Canelo had a very good chance at beating him, and Smith is good enough to make it a war. If its not going to be Smith then Golovkin at 168 just to give him a nice retirement package.

Looks like you wanna hug a left nut of staff member. If you wanna see variety and chess match, watch Gvozdyk vs Beterbiev. Canelo vs Kovalev was garbage. It was so bad that many fans and some pros think it was a fix.
