Canelo dropped the WBC MW belt in 2016 to avoid GGG at that time, but look where he is now in his career.

It forever tarnished his reputation and established the prevalent view of Ginger as a cherry picker who only fights top boxers well after their prime - so no i don't think it was his best idea ever

he had been on the slide already and at that age 2 years makes plenty difference. I thought that would have been obvious.

No it’s not obvious, it’s just garbage excuses. Aren’t you on the “Golovkin won!!!” bandwagon?, or are you admitting he lost and being past it is the excuse?. Golovkin fought Alvarez the way he always fights, nothing different there at all whatsoever. His activity was the same, his stamina was the same, his fighting style was the same and his power didn’t miraculously disappear. He just ran into someone that was ready to punch back for a change.

I respect both of these fighters hugely. But a fighter who drops a belt instead of defending it clearly has his reputation tarnished.
But that's all clearly way above your head.

Getting threatened to get give someone that doesn’t have a single noteworthy win a free payday isn’t something Alvarez was ready to bow down to, and I don’t blame him for it either.

You feel the same way about Golovkin after giving up his IBF to avoid fighting Derevyachenko?

One draw and a victory for Alvarez. Get over it, Zakman. That said, how is it even possible to be trolling for 15 years straight?. What kind of sad pathetic life are you living...
