I hear this saying thrown around a lot, "Tyson Fury, he jabbed Wilders head off" When I reviewed the punch stats, Fury landed 6 more jabs than Wilder, 6 Landing 0.5 more jabs per round is apparently "Jabbing his head off" I consider "Jabbing someone's head off" to be very different, totally dominating behind a stuff jab, busting an opponent up with it, we seen Klitschkos do this many times as well as other fighters. Apparently now though it just means herky jerking, making weird noises and landing one extra jab every 6 minutes. (And having your **** punched in in the 12th)
Best examples that comes to mind are Wink Wright vs Felix Trinidad and Vitali Klitschko vs chris Areola
but it was the beauty in those extra 6 jabs, those were head knocking jabs if i ever saw one. clean off, i tell ya.
Yes I did I saw Wilder jab very well with Fury when he chose to, he missed with big right hands a lot and he missed a few jabs too but he was landing as many as Fury was. I don't give points for fainting you have to actually Outland your opponent with meaningful punches
Where did you watch it at? The full fight doesn't seem to be on youtube. I was of the impression that Fury won that fight based off his offense outside the jab. I remember Fury landing far more flush power punches than Wilder.
Had to download it. When I first watched the fight I got caught up in Fury's entrance, the crowd singing, the emotion and commentary. Shut all that out and watch again you'll see the landed punches are very even, fury was shading rounds on posture as much as substance.
and that was against the worst boxer of the bunch. thats furys level, a level ive been pointing out since he came back from his ped vacation.
The Klits brothers made careers from using the jabs, especially the latter parts of their career Some fighters flick the jab like Ali used to, while others use it as a serious weapon like Holmes and Lewis Tommy Hearns also had a mean jab
GGG v Lemieux is a fight i'd pick as no1 for dominating and busting someone up with just a jab, it was like a mediocre right hand landing on him regularly, it knocked him silly !
