Anyone who does cardio intensive training think about Inoue, Usyk and Loma going through the gears. Especially when they really up it in the later rounds. It helps.

It should have been a KO win for Inoue. Ref ****ed up by blocking Inoue when Donaire wasn't down and then gave him about 14 seconds to recover.

I was certainly watching, but too glued to the screen to think of this rbr.
What a fight. My favorite current vs a fantastic fighter in a foty kind of fight.

To be fair I don't think I posted in the Canelo vs Kovalev either.

So how could the score be 117-109? That has to be miscalculated right? 117 means that Inoue won 9 rounds. So even with the knockdown the score should have been 117-110 right. 120-108 equals 12-0, 119-109 equals 11-1, 118-110 equals 10-2, 117-111 is 9-3. Perhaps they scored another round for inoue 10-8? Maybe the 5th when he buckled his knees?

BTW I loved this fight. Just amazing

Nope. Explain how a 10-10 round would lead to the score of 117-109

mm, yeah, I guess 10-10's can't get you there.

edit: you were right, that judge scored the fifth as 10-8 for Inoue:

BTW I think 10-10 rounds should be MUCH more prevalent. They should be awarded when there is no CLEAR winner. Im sure boxing and the athletic commissions had our best interest in mind when they force you to pick a winner in a round but it just leads to uneven scoring and ultimately controversy. 10-9 should be handed out when its pretty obvious who won that round.

Especially since fights are even numbered

There is no reason to have to force a round for one guy or the other if it’s extremely close, I am a fan of tied rounds because of that

Well said sir.Funny How we can often predict some controversy with Canelo fights and our fears are well founded..
I don’t think anyone had such fears about Inoue v Donaire.
