Just watched this fight on DAZN. Wow! What a contest. Both fighters really stunned throughout the fight. Inoue showed he could be hit but he took the punches as well as could be expected. Donaire is a warrior. Unbelievable that he could trade with Inoue like that at his age. Hoyle scoring it 114-113 was too tight, imo. Inoue won but by at least 115-112, with the KD of Donaire. Reminded me of the wars Donaire had with Vic Darchinyan. Donaire always brings it. I would say Inoue was a bit exposed tonight. He can be hit and against a younger fighter may not be able to withstand the onslaught. But at 118 he carries incredible power.

 

Guys, youtube aint where to watch fights. THIS site is though* (this is the Sky commentary, btw) and then this 2nd** link here is an Index where ALL fights across the damn planet it seems are posted, in most cases within a few hrs. The only fights I have not seen go up near immediately are the biggest of the biggest fights, they sometime wait a week on something like a Canelo, joshua fight etc. This website pretty much a Russian Facebook + YouTube type hybrid website. Go figure, the former USSR just gives about 0000 shits for the copyright laws of the "western" world...shocker. This site also streams all these different Russian cable channels, as well as other countries and such and, hey, didja know that a ight like, sayyyy, lets say Pac and Thurman, which was $80ish, yeah? Well, other countries broadcast the fight, but no one in Genericastan cares enough about a pac fight that they are willing to pay $$ for it, but people still wanna watch it, yeah? so sometimes situations such as that en up streamed here, But at any rate. if you like boxing, you WANNA know about this site. That second link, the very first video in the list says it's the Donaire fight but whomever posted it obviously named it incorrectly. It's an undercard fight it would appear

Expecting my boy Heredia to do the job here with a spectacular KO. No way I'd put an alarm for this but if I happen to wake up early I might get up to watch this lol.

Definitely FOTY.

I was surprised how much bigger Donaire was compared to Inoue. I was also every impressed with Inoues boxing skills, footwork, and ring IQ. He did a fantastic job of outmaneuvering his larger opponent.

My prediction of a blowout by Inoue was squashed by the legendary display put on by Donaire. What fortitude and heart. Truly inspiring.

The ref essentially stole an 11th rd KO from Inoue. WTF was that all about. Inoue should have had the ability to pursue and punish Donaire as he limped away following the body shot. Crap Referee, he essentially gave Nonito a time-out to recover.

I can only see Inoue moving up one more Division; he is just too small otherwise.

 

oh, wow. Just watched the fight myself. Donaire...everyone else has pretty much said what can be, but still, good show. I think he fought a fantastic fight, probably couldn't have done much better at this age. I thought he fought a pretty smart fight in that, for the most part, he held off on certain counters/left punches on the table that he knew he would unlikely be able to pull the speed needed to accomplish a lot of them, which would just left him outta position and giving opportunities to Inoue, who already was having enough chances as it was. I'm watching it though and I was imagining what Donaire may've been thinking when he'd seen these opportunities which he passed on, was he thinking how if 10yrs ago, he'd have had the necessary speed to take advantage of the many, many chances he couldn't/chose not to bite on in this fight? If he wasn't, I sure was. I think he could've quite possibly beaten the guy if back then. It was vaguely reminiscent of the first Vic fight in that Inoue was rather sloppy at times and he was made to pay for it often, but not always. Anyway, great entertaining fight. Most boxing fans may not be aware of this, what with all the constant bickering over any and everything, but this yr, it was a damn great yr as far as entertaining fights, plenty of FOTY candidates throughout the whole yr.

 

I watched this fight at a "social gathering" (among several self-proclaimed boxing gurus and a few viewers of the unintiated variety) and missed the RBR here. Let's just say these two absolute warriors have converted a few casuals into boxing fans.

What. A. FIGHT.... this was.

 

I had money on Inoue and I found myself pulling for Nonito to CLUTCH, HANG ON, SURVIVE so he could make it to the final bell. Ive bet on a lot of fights and I have never ever pulled for my opponent. What I witnessed today was amazing.

 

I thought the exact same thing. Even Inoue thought he counted to 10 but the ref only counted to 9. The confusion is from the PA guy counting and he counts to fast and he is 1 second ahead of the refs count. I rewatched and the ref is clearly counting with his fingers displayed. It was just a count of 9 and nonito popped up.

 

I saw the ref counted on one before nonito dropped then resetted. But yeah nonito got up at nine

 

I think it has something to do with weight distribution.
I have a pair of Leone 1947 White Edition 10 oz gloves. They look like pillows to me but feel really comfortable.

 

Nonito only had to beat the referees count. He could have stayed down for 20 seconds, as long as he beat the referees count.
It´s not a 10 second count, it´s just a 10 count.
Funny how professionals and title holders like Wilder don’t know the difference.
