Good post. You make a point were all proberly missed on Thread about Inoue showing he is more than a puncher. Great fitness as he was getting faster and busier thr later the fight went, as you say great skills and chin. Skill wise the thing that impressed me most about him was how he improved fighting on the back foot as fight went on. He was struggling early on with it as Nonito held centre ring, but he adjusted and improved his backfoot game and started holding centre of ring more himself as fight went on. Adjusting mid fight is always the sign of a great fighter. I bet Inoue learned as much in this fight as the rest of his pro fights combined.
I think he probably couldn't believe the size of donaire and he was just walking through his shots like nobody else has done. I think it was the ninth round it looked like donaire was taking over but inoue started boxing again and picked donaire off, I love his combinations. He is probably my favourite fighter.
Alfonso Zamora and Carlos Zarate. Two of the greats at 118. That was 40 years ago approximately. Great fight then, and great fight today. But the size difference was ridiculous! Size kept nonito in the fight today. I can't see Inoue being even a big Bantamweight, never mind making it at 126. 122 deffo his limit I'd say. Killer puncher though.... Just remember though Burnett ( the betting favourite to win it outright) was beating donaire ....and of course Rigo schooled nonito ....and donaire is 37....

He'd have been knocked out! Burnett huffed and puffed and got hit far too much by guys that weren't on Inoues level imo.
I agree he gets knocked out brutally, I still can't believe he was number one seed. I never rated the kid tbh.

So fresh he’s had to retire! Burnett would’ve been an interesting fight though. I thought he’d have beaten Donaire before the freak injury but that said, Donaire turned back the clock somewhat yesterday. Just shows how good he was in his prime.
Decent post but nonito wasn’t all that great really. Great guy and very deadly puncher yes but never a great boxer really. Always feasted on much smaller men and was a bit of a one trick pony. Always relying on the big”go home” punch. Yesterday was about as good as he’s ever boxed. And again he was ridiculously bigger in there...
