WBC lightweight title at stake, putative 2nd defense of Davis. Potentially early 2020, assuming Haney is successful in his voluntary 1st defense versus Alfredo Santiago Álvarez tomorrow on the Saunders vs. Cóceres (aka KSI vs. Logan Paul II...but fuck that) undercard on DAZN. At present Davis is his WBC mandatory despite having last fought thrice consecutively at super featherweight, not lightweight. The champ is a 29 year old southpaw and stands 5'8 with a 71" reach. He is 23-0 (15) professionally and had a 130-8 amateur record. The mandatory challenger is 25 years old standing 5′5½″ with 67½″ reach. He is 22-0 (21) professionally and had a 205-15 amateur record.
What makes you say that? (meaning your pick, obviously boxing politics explains the second half of your statement)
Davis is far better and has amzing power, he is better at setting up power shots than Hney who has only fought fighters rated outside the Top 30 in that division, Tank is a world champ and Haney is completely unproven.
I'm pretty sure guys like Moran and Abdullaev are well in the top 30 in the division. Also Tank isn't all that proven. Only time he fought a tough fighter was in Pedraza and that was almost 3 years ago.
If they fight 2020 I got tank KO. I think it'll be in like 2025 though. Haney probably by wins then. Tank is like a jock in high school, peaks young imo.
