The Parlov and the first Saad fights I have mentioned. Conteh wasn't an ATG but he was a very good champion for a short while.As good as Qawi,and Galindez.
Dear lord these comments are bias Conteh wins but it isnt easy, Froch is as tough as they come. Perhaps a late stoppage or a wide UD
Wait. Is it McVey or Tonto? You have to choose. Otherwise, why do Limeys overrate Conteh so? He was a decent plugger but not really in the top of his contemporary class and not a candidate to top any subsequent class. Froch was a big super mid with a ton of fighting heart and a guy who knew how to swing the momentum of a fight. I edge toward Carl.
I read it but to me they are excuses. He got bounced like a ball by Saad in the championship rounds the first time and then destroyed in the rematch when he was still only 29 or so .. Parlov was no great talent and he should have been able to defeat him decisively .. Not sure about how he matches up best for best vs Galindez and remember it being a very exciting potential match up in the 70's but I feel Qwai was a full level better and would have done a number on him .. That said again I liked the guy, he was charismatic and an exciting character ... to me he just seemed to either underperform or was not all many hoped .. BTW, nice to see you back .. haven't seen you for a while ..
